Are there any stores where I can get a medical bracelet (not online)?

DD lost her medic alert bracelet and we leave for our cruise on Friday. Does anyone know of any stores that carry any type of children's medical bracelets? We would not get any online purchases in time before we leave:(

Check with local drugstores and pharmacies. If they don't have them, they might be able to give you a lead on one.

I have seen them at drugstores and Pharmacies - the freestanding kind like CVS, Walgreens. The places I saw had a pretty decent selection of 'messages' on them, so if your child has a fairly common medical need, you should be able to find one.
I have also heard of some stores like Walmart having machines that make dogtag type ID. Since they are set up to put things like name and address, you could type in something else to be put on it instead.

I got mine at Rite Aid. It was about 8 dollars (7.99 before tax) and it came with 4 stickers of common ailments and you like put them on the metal part. Then the metal plate opens up and theres a compartment with a plastic folded card that has room for putting medical info on it. However the chain is a bit large for me so I had to clip it onto one of the chain links rather than the actual ring.

I know this isn't optimal, but try a national chain petstore (think PetSmart or Petco). They have the engraving machines right there, and you can print out a tag and attach to a standard bracelet. I've done it before in a pinch, when DD developed a new allergy, until I had time to get her new one ordered. Better safe than sorry!

My dd5 had surgery in December and I noticed several styles in the giftshop at the hospital - there were a variety of different ailments as well. My dd has a very rare bleeding disorder so I was not able to find a complete bracelet there but I was able to find several beaded bands for the one she already has.

I know CVS has a band that you write the information on a sticker that goes inside of the band. I bought one of these for my ds7 a couple of years ago (asthma and allergic to latex, milk and egg) but because he could take it off himself, he lost it (or rather I think he gave it away) and couple of weeks later. He now wears the standard stainless steel band with a clasp that he can't remove.

What online sites do you guys order from?

I'm on a rare medication with a lot of drug interactions and as an EMS provider I should probably set a good example

Thanks!

I know Walgreens and WalMart have them. I have even some that are the compartamentalized type where you open the bracelet (supposedly waterproof) and the info sheet is inside. That would work if your daughter does not have a common condition.
