Are there any rumors of another Military rate for 2011?

The 2010 military salute tickets expired Sept. 30th. I read this morning that there was a *rumor* that a new military salute ticket and room discount would be released Oct. 3, which is tomorrow. Keeping my fingers crossed here!!

Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh!!!! I hope your right!:worship:

DH and I are FINALLY taking our "honeymoon" 23 years after the fact and I was floored when I looked at the ticket prices for 3 days.:scared1:

We are using our DVC points to stay at the AKL and then a 7 day cruise and I'm afraid I was kind of counting on the discount tickets. The thought of staying at Disney and not going to any parks just seems kind of shocking.:sad1:

It's great that Disney has done this all these years though so shame on me for expecting it, I guess! And I DON'T mean to sound greedy because we have enjoyed so very many wonderful times at WDW and never could have done it without the discounts.:goodvibes

Sorry, I got so excited when I read the above post I posted prematurely!:rotfl2:

LOL! I did call the base this morning and the lady told me the last time Disney released military tickets it was 3 weeks before they got any in their office. Don't forget there are blackout dates. The CM I spoke to last night told me some dates around Christmas this year, Easter 2011 and July 4th 2011. He didn't say anything after that so I'm wondering if these tickets will expire again in Sept. like they did this year. My husband and I are celebrating out 10th anniversary (second marriage for both of us!) this Wednesday and never took a honeymoon either. We are going to celebrate it when we go in January. I hope you have a fabulous time.

We are going to Coranado Springs still can't swing that delux (would love to go to AKL) but I am really excited to stay at CSR!! I know it is huge but we will have our own vehicle if the transportation becomes an issue!

And you'll have queen size beds too!!! I have never stayed there but the grounds are beautiful. I hope you all have a great vacation!

I called WDW a little while ago and the agent said to keep checking back.:confused3

I'm hoping we don't fall into a window where it's not available (Nov 3-6 2010). I'm wishing and wishing though!

I hope you have a wonderful time, too! Make sure you tell them it's your anniversary and you can even stop by guest services to get your pin!:wizard:

Yay - I'm super excited about the new ticket deals but I can't find anything else on the internet confirming them (I know sometimes they are slow to update websites and things) - can anyone give me the phone number (or just tell me who I'm supposed to be calling) to the Disney people that you all have been talking to so I can see if our dates are blacked out? Thanks in advance for any help - still a little new here :-)

They told you to keep checking back about the ticket or the room discount?

Hi! I called the Disney Reservations #. 407-939-7639 is the number I called when I had them change our reservations to the military discount. The tickets are not out yet so no one to call yet about those. The CM told me the exact dates but I didn't write them down. I know he said some days in Dec., some in April and July 4th. The blackout dates he gave me were for the tickets. Don't know if that counts for the room discount too or not. I haven't seen anything on the internet either. I heard there was a hold up with them releasing it. I don't know if that means they are re-thinking something or not.

I can't wait to contact them and see what is available!!! I am so excited!:woohoo:

So no blackout dates in November? Around Thanksgiving? Oh I hope I can use these for some of our trip! It will resolve my "to park hop or not to park hop" dilemma, among other things.

Hi,
He didn't mention any Nov. dates. He also said he had very limited information and I'm wondering if the hold up is because they are still deciding on all the specifics with these tickets. I was baffled that he didn't have any info on a 4 day base ticket but he said that wasn't showing up on whatever he was looking at. Maybe that's why the first guy I spoke to didn't want to give me any info. I was online typing in dates for rooms at Disney and the "Chat Specialist" window popped up. I asked that girl about a military discount and she is the one that confirmed there was a new discount out that very day ( that was Sunday). I should have asked her about the ticket too!

I called and was told there is no military discount for 2011. Does anyone have the code so I can help the CM input the info correctly.

You need to call back and speak to a different CM. Apparently that one isn't up to speed. I asked the CM on Disney Chat if I needed a code and she said no, just ask for the military discount. I called 2 different times to have our rooms changed to the military discount and neither CM asked me for a code.

I also suggest you call again. I called this morning and asked if I could book a new ressie with a military discount and the CM was very helpful. She also said she saw the military tix offer for next year and wrote down the details (same info on the military tips link in pp), but there are adjustments being done to it and the page is down for upgrades. She said it should be available tomorrow.

Ahh so frustrating. I guess I will have to wait until tomorrow. We are looking at a girls trip and the WL is $430 a night without a discount. Not happening.

And I also did a chat with Noah and he said there are no discounts and sent me to the Disney military website that hasn't been updated since summer.:confused3

New Disney Military Salute 2011 UPDATE
Oct 6th, 2010
by Steve.

Here’s an update on the 2010/2011 Disney Military Salute. The room only rates quoted in the previous post are in effect now. Packages are being booked at these rates by Amy at Ears of Experience.

As far as the Disney Military Salute theme park tickets…

A Manager at Shades of Green was able to verify through their Disney contacts that: Disney will be offering Discounted Military Salute Theme Park Tickets; They did not confirm the start date or number of days, but there will be blockout dates.

Through another contact in the Disney Company: There will be a 2011 Military Salute Ticket Offer; Purchase dates will be 1 January through 1 October 2011; Last day of use will be 11 October 2011; Blockout dates will be 17-23 April and the fourth of July; This contact also confirms that Disney was prepared to release the Military Salute Ticket info on 3 October with the room only offer but decided not to at the last minute. There is still no “official” info on number of days of use, number of tickets, or cost but the info in the previous post sounds correct to me.

Keep tuned, I’ll continue to ask through Disney PR and will post as soon as I know!:thumbsup2:
