Are there any rumors of another Military rate for 2011?

Since some people have more inside information than I do I thought I would throw this out there. Anyone hear if there will be a Military discount for 2011? We took advantage of the 40% room discount thi August and would love to get another deal again. Been wondering if I should book Shades or hope for an AP or Mil rate for a Disney Resort. Always planning, Always planning....

I'm hoping for some kind of discount. I HATE dealing with the long waits for buses at Shades. Of course, that's probably just my luck and nobody else has that problem!

Oh really about the buses ? That is one thing that has always held us back is using a bus other than the WDW busses. We have never stayed at SoG but I was considering it I do love the being right into the Disey theming of the resorts.

WE actually LOVE SOG, where else can you get all those amenities and the ROOM SIZE for those prices? Plenty choices to eat, clean, friendly and the 'shady shuttle' is on the go, with a 5 minute walk to the GF/monorail. No need to wait for a bus if you don't have to! You just ask for the shuttle - takes you to teh bottom of the road! WE end up driving anyway because I have an AP, but there's no more problems than any other reosrt buses - sometimes it is just the luck of the draw Sorry you had a bad experience with them.
I too hope they bring in more discounts for military this year - it was great the last tow years, although I wish they would offer room discounts longer than September 30! Could use one right about now for mid-October (and teh AP isn't THAT great of a discount for teh places we would try, so looks like it is back to SOG for us!)

When I booked our vacation package about 2 weeks ago the rep I worked with told me to watch out for the military discount....so I am guessing there will be one! Just when?? who knows? let's keep our eyes out for it.

My sister who is active military might be coming stateside this November.
AP rates are at 35% off but no weekends and the reg. fall special is only 30% off so 40% off with some discount for her on park tickets would be wonderful.

I'm with you guys, really hoping for another military deal for room discounts and ticket deals. We went this past July and was able to stay at the Poly with the 40% off military rate, we had an amazing time and would not have been able to stay at the Poly without that discount.

We normally stay at SOG, so if there isn't another military offer coming we will go with SOG and be plenty happy (we love SOG, it's been great for us in the past). However, a nice Disney resort discount would be great too! The ticket deals have been amazing too, we've taken advantage of them last year and this year and it was wonderful for us.

So here's hoping for some new discount for 2011!

The current one expires at the end of the year I think so I guess we will probably have to wait until then to see if there is a new one keeping my fingers crossed!

The 2010 military salute tickets expired Sept. 30th. I read this morning that there was a *rumor* that a new military salute ticket and room discount would be released Oct. 3, which is tomorrow. Keeping my fingers crossed here!!

Ok, called this morning and got a new military discount added to our already existing reservations! We have reservations at WL and BC for January, it didn't change the price on those since we already had 40% off on them using the general public discount. We also have a reservation at POP, we already had 25% discount on that but the military discount gave us an extra $5/night off of it so had that applied. You can add dining plan to your military room only reservation. Thank You Disney!!!! New military ticket out also!

The CM didn't give me the specifics on the discounts, just said it saved me $5/night on top of the 25% discount we already had. I would say it is probably 30% off on value, 40% off on deluxe, have no idea about moderate. I was told there was a new Armed Forces Salute ticket out today and was given the following info: 4 day ticket with Park Hopper OR Water Parks and more for $138.00/ticket. 4 day ticket with Park Hopper AND Water Parks and more for $165.00. The CM said he was showing no info on just a 4 day base ticket. Hope that helps someone!

Woo-hoo!!!! I just called and changed our moderate resort reservation for next June to a deluxe!!! After going to WDW for my whole life and never being able to afford a deluxe resort, this discount makes it possible! Yay WDW!!!!

The agent told me the discount is 40% off deluxe resorts and 35% off moderate resorts. (Sorry, I didn't ask about value resorts.)

He told me the rooms are already going fast. There was no availability at two of the resorts he checked for the military discount.

Yay!!! Glad you got the discount and are moving on up!!! What deluxe did you pick? We have stayed at Poly, it is our absolute favorite. We have reservations for Wilderness Lodge and Beach Club in January, along with 3 nights at POP. I'm pretty sure the discount and the values is 30%. Thanks for the info on the mods though! I am tempted to call back and change a night or two to Animal Kingdom Lodge. My husband really wanted Contemporary....there are just so many choices! We are resort hopping this time so we can try new places. CBR is our fav mod. I did call the base this morning about the military ticket and the lady said she had not heard a thing about the room discount or the tickets. I gave her the info the CM gave me last night about the new tickets. I did read today where the discount/tickets were supposed to come out but there was a hold up of some sort and they weren't sure when it would be released. Thank goodness Disney is giving the discount even though they haven't released the info to the public yet. Anywho, way to go on the deluxe discount!!!

We are going to Coranado Springs still can't swing that delux (would love to go to AKL) but I am really excited to stay at CSR!! I know it is huge but we will have our own vehicle if the transportation becomes an issue!
