Are there any rides you're not allowed to do solo?

I know there are some that have single rider lines/where you'll simply get slotted in with other folks. Thinking of non-coaster things like the Teacups, etc - is that something where they put you in with another group as well? Is there anything you can't do as a solo visitor?

They usually won't, though on some rides you may be seated with strangers, mostly the roller-coasters where the seats are 2 across and they try to fill every seat. You will not be seated with another party on Teacups or most dark rides. On Boat rides, they may seat additional people in the row with you depending on how busy it is.

The only things you CAN'T do solo are the family raft rides in the water parks. You can group with someone if they will let you, but it's up to the other groups in line.

Thanks, that's what I figured but wanted to be sure!

I personally avoid Test Track now that they've changed it - I don't want to be stuck with someone else's idea of a fun design. I think the set track/design thing worked better to ride that one solo.

Is the ride actually any different based on the design input though? I thought it was just a bit of silliness to show you how the design "would" fare in the tests.

Oh, I don't know. It certainly sounded like you designed your own ride. But like I said, it's never been a big deal for anyone in my family (a car is just something to get you from point a to point b, not something obsess over), so I was only going by the way it sounds.

The actual ride layout/movement is the exact same as it was pre-refurb. The only "Interactive" part is where scores based on the car designs that were uploaded are shown.

If you want to ride Test Track in the single rider line, but go thru the full design experience, what you do is go in the gift shop entrance and thru the showroom. As you head back towards the ride exit there will be 3 design stations on your left in the interactive area where you can do a full design, then get back in the single rider line and use it...just don't use those kiosks in the single rider line or you'll override it.

Or, you can do what I try to do is design a car after riding Test Track, then use it the next time...

not a Disney park but this made me think of the Thunderbolt coaster at Kennywood, they only allow two riders per seat, me being there as a solo made it awkward while they held the train asking the crowd to ride with me...

I've soloed most rides and the only one that wasn't ideal was Primeval Whirl. I got put in a car with a teenage couple apparently on their first date. So there they were, all awkward and wanting to be alone and there I was, screaming and trying to avoid sliding into them at every turn. In a similar situation in the future, I'd probably volunteer to wait. But that's unique since it's the one ride the shoves you into your co-riders.

Teacups are a bit of a challenge solo but I've never been put with another group for that. Same for Astro Orbiters. And Peter Pan is AMAZING as a solo since you can look out over both sides of the ship. :D

Can you do Space Ranger Spin and Midway Mania as a solo? Don't you have to have someone to play against?

There are loading restrictions on Primaeval Whirl. We have the exact same ride nearby, and they can't load single riders. We (DH and I) got paired with a solo teen one day as they couldn't load him on his own. We rode 4 times back to back with him because he was so pleased to find people who would ride with him.

I've been going solo since 2002, just about every year. I have yet to find one that didn't let me ride, but, many that I had to share a car with. Not a big deal as far as I am concerned. I did get placed with a real big time fan on 7DMT. At first I was upset a little, but, quickly changed my attitude and had a good time. The guy sang with gusto during the Hi Ho part in the mine and encouraged me to do the same. I did and it turned out to be kind of fun.

"Designing" the car has no actual effect on the ride itself tho

Sure you can ride them solo! Having ridden both with and without family, I've never really thought of them as going against who you're riding with, but rather just having fun and comparing against yourself on previous rides.

That was pointed out to me many posts back, but thanks.

Regardless, they really don't make that clear in describing it.

What? Do you have some sort of weird family that likes each other more than they like winning?
