at the same resort each time at WDW because you just love it so much? I went for the first time back in 2017. After two years of research on ALL the Disney resorts, we chose All Star Sports and loved it. We're planning our second WDW trip in 2025 to be sure the new Splash Mountain is open. (Yes, I know it's Tiana's Bayou Adventure, but I'll always call it Splash Mountain) This time my parents, both in their 70's will be coming. The trip will only be a week. I don't want to stay at a deluxe resort unless I'm there for much longer so I'll have more than one rest day just to enjoy the resort. I've been watching a lot of the updated videos on the moderate and value resorts. The other day I'm watching one on Port Orleans French Quarter and my 13 year old DD says "We have to stay at All Star Sports again. It was SO fun there." I agreed with her. I like how it's small and not so spread out, so we'll likely stay there again.

We're slowly getting there... we both love AKL so much, and tend to have our best stays there. I still want to try a couple more, just to try them, but AKL has our hearts. (It doesn't help that the Poly is prohibitively expensive either).

We usually camp at the Fort, though lately we’ve been branching out to Wilderness Lodge and in 10 days (yayyy!) we’ll be staying at AK, so we’ll see how that goes.

I believe the Fort will always be “home” for us, though. I’ll miss Trails End, but some of my best Disney memories are of walking to our loop on a warm winter’s evening, enjoying actual greenery rather than snow. It was truly magical for me.

Any time I stay somewhere that's not the GF or the Poly, I get jealous when I see the buses for those resorts. I have expensive taste. :snooty::rolleyes2

I think it's because I stayed at both as a kid, so now they're just quintessentially Disney to me. (It's also why I have a lingering love of the moving walkway between concourses B and C at O'Hare airport ... I guess when I was like four I asked my mom if THAT was Disney World and she said yes. Of course I believed her.)

DHS is actually my favorite park, so you'd think I'd be a Yacht/Beach/Boardwalk gal, but there's just something about the monorail resorts for me!

I did stay at POP for the first time on my most recent trip and think both POP and CBR have gotten a HUGE boost from the Skyliner. I'd definitely consider CBR for a future stay.

It was the Boardwalk Resort for us for a while, then we tried Beach/Yacht Club and loved it even more. Also love Swan/Dolphin when trying to plan a more budget friendly trip. Basically just have to stay anywhere in the boardwalk area now lol. Epcot is our favorite park so that definitely helps too.

BCV is my absolute favorite, but we base our resort decisions on what our plans are for our trips - if it's MK heavy, we will stay in that area.

I usually stay wherever there is availability or can afford budget wise for quick last minute trips but if I was able to choose I'd stay at Wilderness Lodge or Beach Club (LOVE the pool there and is also nostalgic for me as I stayed there often when I was younger). Wilderness Lodge has better theming and I absolutely love the cozy vibes.

We visit for three weeks each year and tend to rotate among four or five Deluxe Resorts. We've stayed at all Deluxe Resorts and Villas many times and now tend to stick to our faves. It was fun testing them all over the years--it's really the only way to truly compare them for yourself and not based on the opinions of others.

Are you me? 😂 And as much as I adore Epcot and HS and being able to walk to them, it’s just not the same as the monorail resorts. The vibe and energy staying over by MK is one of those intangibles that’s so hard to explain, especially as adults without kids. On paper we “should” be Crescent Lake people, and I do enjoy staying over there, but GF and Poly just hit different.

I will say my childhood nostalgia is actually for the Dolphin, which sounds odd until I say my family stayed there on the rare trips growing up when we stayed on property. But it still seemed just as magical to me as a kid, which is something I think is lost on people who dismiss those hotels because Mickey isn’t plastered everywhere. It was Disney World, who cares. We couldn’t afford Disney resorts. In those days there were no mods or values.

I absolutely adore Coronado though, specifically the tower. I always joke if they somehow plopped it on the Boardwalk I’d never stay at the other resorts around there again.

And me! Grand Floridian and Poly are my "must do" resorts or I just don't feel like I've had *my* Disney vacation. I have on occasion split stays between GF/Poly and AKL CL, Beach Club, Wilderness Lodge. Every time I was at one of the others, I regretted my split stay and wished I'd just stayed at the GF or Poly.

SO far we've stayed at:
CBR - love it for smaller kids as its great for pools and centrally located.
POFQ - love it because its small and I love the Tiana style theming.
POR - adore the theming!
In July we are staying at Riviera (our first deluxe resort), then our dream resort Wilderness Lodge in September. We were meant to stay at OKW which I was excited about last year but I got diagnosed with cancer and we had to cancel our trip.
I'd love to try AKL, the Poly, and the Boardwalk but not too fussed about BC/YC or GF. Nothing against those resorts, just not our bag. Never been too fussed about the theming at the Contemporary but I do like the idea of the monorail running through it. Coronado Springs looks great, haven't had the chance for that one yet.

That was definitely the way I felt on my 40th birthday trip, which was my first split stay. I think I definitely got the order and the balance wrong last time, at least for me. I learned my lesson about doing the monorail resort first and for fewer days, YC just could not live up to GF and my biggest regret was leaving the latter. I kinda feel bad about it because it was my first time at both resorts and almost a totally unfair comparison, since I got pixie dust at GF and everything was so magical. Next weekend (!!) we check into YC and will switch over to Poly for the majority of the trip. Feeling a lot more confident about that decision.

That would be us.

Our first stay was in the CR Tower because two nephews accompanied us. We thought they'd enjoy being there, and we were thrilled by having snagged a theme park view. Fireworks were stunning.

Otherwise, we'd not yet met our Twoo Wuv, the Grand Floridian. First stayed there in 2010. Crazy mad for the place.

Bought into VGF in '17 and have never regretted it.

We do a 1-6 split most stays anymore--some other DVC for arrival night and the other 6 at VGF.

We were not unhappy when our Riviera night didn't come through last trip, and Disney switched us to VGF. 🎉🎊

That happened to us too. We did a Polynesian/beach club split. We ended up getting upgraded to club level at the Poly and when we went to the beach club, I felt like it was such a downgrade. Even our daughter was like “when can we go back to the Moana hotel? I liked that better”

Can relate to your daughter! :) In my case, I stayed there prior to CL reopening, I had booked an outer building TPV and was pixie dusted into the main building. Ironically into the deluxe king room we were originally booked in before I had to make it a solo trip due to my partner not being able to make it from Canada (the border was still closed).

I really did fall in love with the Grand. And that was before they redid the rooms! I can't wait to go back, RPC is too much for us but I would love to try it for real for at least one or two nights at the end of a trip. I think Poly still has the edge for me just because I love the vibe there and am a big Moana fan myself, I have been excited about those rooms since the first pictures came out. But GF is a very close second and they are both my favorites by far.

This has evolved for me over the years. Before we became DVC members, the Contemporary was my favorite (we stayed there on our very first trip, so sentimental favorite). However, I am not a fan of the recent room re-theming and sadly can’t see myself returning anytime soon except for the restaurants. OKW truly became home as soon as we became members. We also really enjoy WL (BRV specifically), kind of ironic for me since for many years I didn’t think I would enjoy the theming and it never made my “bucket list”. Big mistake, but you live and learn! And we were underwhelmed with the Riviera in photos (I still don’t think photos do it justice:confused3), but we really enjoy it there and will be there for our 3rd stay in November. We enjoy many of the other resorts as well; they’re all special in their own way!
