Three for me...

Requiem for a Dream - It's just too powerful. You are forced into watching a series of lives spiral into destruction without letup.

Titanic - so, so sad :( Talk about emotional!

Life - starts off interesting and ends up catastrophic. Like there's no way anything could ever go right!

How about you?

Deerhunter really bothers me. I don't like watching Saving Pvt Ryan. Hits too close to home for my family.

Lilo & Stich. Stitch is too creepy. Then there are films like Sophie's Choice, good grief! @Domo I've only seen one of the 3 movies you mentioned--Titanic. I saw it in the theater when it was new and it's on cable all the time now. No desire to see it again.

Any movie that features child abuse of any kind, psychological thrillers or any movie in which characters have a mental illness are hard no's from me, I won't even try to watch them. But I find that as I get older I have less tolerance for movies and books. If I am not enjoying the movie or book I turn it off/put it down. I tried watching Spiderman Homecoming and I couldn't finish it. The one movie that I will never watch all the way through is The Wizard of Oz. Something about the flying monkeys and all the singing and weird effects, it creeps me out and I've never been able to watch it.

Requiem for a Dream is such a disturbing movie! Whenever it's on TV, I can't help watching it. The way addiction takes over their lives and makes them do anything is so sad. The main character's (Jared Leto) mom is great in her role. Ellen Burstyn is such a great actress. Anyway, I can't watch horror movies as a general rule. They are just too disgusting for me. Any movie where an animal, usually a dog, dies. Old Yeller, My Dog Skip, no way, never again. Like a previous poster said, anything featuring child abuse or children dying. I remember watching Changeling with Angelina Jolie. Oh god, that movie gave me nightmares for weeks. I don't know why anybody would choose to watch something like that. Truly horrifying.

I know what you mean re. Requiem for a Dream. IMO, though, Ellen Burstyn was SO passed over for an oscar!

I agree with Titanic but it's because I had to watch it once and my eyes rolled so much they damn near fell out my head.

Titanic... I fall asleep before the good part when the ship sinks. I know... spoiler warning! /s
