Are there any (good, bad or neither) habits others have that you're glad you don't? And if so, why?

For me,
1. Putting hot sauce on everything- I'm really glad I never built up a tolerance as many of my friends have because they no MUST put it on everything.
2. Drinking coffee- I use it as a pick me up occasionally but I don't need it to function, and I'm glad about that.
3. Biting nails- I don't think I need to say more because ew.

Smoking.
All the obvious stuff aside, it is socially unacceptable to do so, you end up outside all the time at parties and people look at you like you're a pariah.

Smoking is at the top of my list. In addition to Disney Doll's reasons, I have to add the cost of cigarettes. I prefer to have my expensive habit be handbags.

I think smoking, excessive drinking, and using drugs are at the top of my list.
Others are:
Nail biting
being late
laziness
constant complaining
negative attitude

I'm going to have to say

1. smoking (never started)
2. driving too much
3. coffee (i drink it sometimes in the winter but that is it)
4 nail biting
that is all I can think of right now.

Smoking
Gambling
Picking my nose
Picking my nose AND wiping boogers on whatever is convenient
Speeding
Spitting
Hocking up loogies
Watching judge or Maury Povich-type shows
Snacking frequently late into the evening or while I watch TV
Being unhygienic with my body or my home
Letting my fingernails fall where they may as I clip them, even in public
Eating rare or raw meat or fish
Drinking coffee. Mostly because of how it stains the teeth.
Listening to music loudly through headphones
Eating mayonnaise
Watching sports on TV all the time
Not using my turn signal
Darting through traffic like I'm in a Nascar race
Saying things like "How cute is THAT??" or "My bad"
Abbreviating words, as in "vacay", "ressie", "prego"

Smoking, for oh so many obvious reasons. I have crappy lungs to begin with. After going to a Superbowl party for several hours on Sunday and being in a room with several smokers, I could already feel some effect on my lungs when I came home and had to climb 3 flights of stairs to my apartment. I was actually all but gasping when I finally got to my door. Ugh, it was gross. Much as I hate to say it, I almost don't want to hang out at my friend's house anymore because she smokes so much. I mean, why should I take days off of MY life due to something someone else is doing? I've never smoked a single cigarette and yet my lungs are still getting damaged. Grrrrr.

:rotfl:Your list made me laugh. It's so specific it's as if you were just waiting for someone to ask you this question so you could unburden yourself! :rotfl:

Do you feel better now?:rotfl:

I have a friend that constantly is trying to cop an "undercover whiff" of her underarms. She thinks she is so slick but it is obvious to everyone. Just take a freaking bath woman!!!

That is definitely on my list of things I'm glad I don't do or need to do!!

You're kidding, right? Or maybe not.

How about, not spending my time posting conversation starters like this? :rotfl:

Smoking and poor eating habits are the top of my list.

This is more of a trait then a habit but the need to nanny everyone around you is something that drives me nuts. I don't care about the clothes in your back yard, whether you get a vaccine or not, if you put your garbage out a day early, if you put the cart back in the cart corral, or anything else of the sort. Do your thing, I'll do mine, as long as we aren't breaking any laws we can all coexist. It isn't any of my business and those that make it theirs need to get a life.

Mine are all personality trait habits I can't stand.

#1 must be the habit of telling everyone around they are wrong when they are wrong. Uggh, it's so plainly a grab at superiority but an empty one if you think about it. I mean I never say to myself ,"Gee I wish I was like that person", right after they offend me. What Is the goal for this one?

#2 the habit of trying to one up everyone when some sort of tragedy comes up. Seriously, it's fine to share if the intent is to make the other person comfortable but to do it so you feel you don't have to sympathize is just kooky. Some people seem to do it as a way of saying "Here is why I am justified in not caring about your experiences."

#3 the habit of doing a morality check on everyone around you all the time. This even annoyed The Man upstairs to the point where we have the story about not mentioning the splinter in your neighbors eye before you remove the plank in your own. This is so prevalent in the suburbs it drives me up the wall. MYOB unless asked.

#4 the habit of insulting people to their faces while pretending to be talking about someone else. I had a friend who would do this. Then once she did it to me and I said "I know, can you believe I have this friend who is such a weirdo that she tries to insult other people by pretending she's talking about someone else not thinking they realize it. I mean what do you think could be wrong with someone like that?":rolleyes1

Too funny!!!:rotfl2:

As for me, I'm hoping that I don't slip down the slippery slopes of being completely immature (in a negative, whiny, me Me ME, way) person who is incapable of rational thinking when I'm 40 and always feel the need to cause drama.

I'm also glad that I don't hold grudges.

I wish I could adopt the habit of super healthy eating...but candy is so addicting.

::yes::

I have to add: I'm glad I don't try to be a raincloud on threads, or an expert on every thread. I think there are people who sit around just waiting for threads on which they can try to be the party-pooper or the show-off. A recent celebratory tax refund thread comes to mind. It actually often goes hand-in-hand with the one-upmanship idea. Doing that once in a blue moon? Sure - maybe the person is an expert who can shed some light on something, or the topic really is ridiculous. But doing either of those things more than occasionally is really annoying.

Ummmm...maybe I'm just having a paranoid day...I forgot to wear my tinfoil hat...but I hope you're not implying that I do that. I really just thought your post was cute :flower3: I imagined you sighing with relief when you finished typing. Did I mention I have an overactive imagination?
