Ive been reading bad review after bad review. We have decided we will need a car when we bring our daughter for the college program next week. Any advise? We have only rented a car one other time but that was in Seattle. Help!

Quite a few are good. You have to remember you can read a horror story about just every company. People tend to post when they have a bad experience, hence all of the bad reviews. People very seldom post when they have a good experience.

Personally, I have used Alamo and National a few times each with absolutely no issues. I prefer National due to their Emerald Club program, but they are both good. Others will have their preferences, but as long as you stay with a nationally known brand, you will be fine.

I have rented probably 20 cars in FL. Only had 1 issue, and that was with Alamo. National & Dollar are the ones I tend to use. Dollar is usually cheapest with promo codes from mousesavers.com

We used Alamo for the first time when we were at Disney last October, and I have to say that we were pleasantly surprised. We got a decent rate, and had no problems at the airport rental counter. We were told to go to the garage, and pick out our car, and we were on our way. Alamo also has a place on Disney property right near the MK. Since we did not need the car for the length of our stay, we were able to drop it off there. They have a van that will take you to your resort, or to a park. It worked for us, since we had planned on taking the ME to the airport on our departure day.

All the major car rental agencies are very similar. Just go with the one offering the best rate and if you're flying, an airport location is more convenient than taking a shuttle to the rental location.
