Are there any DVC folks that have been to Disney over Memorial Day weekend?

Was it hard to get a ressie? Also, how crowded are the parks? I have not called MS yet to inquire if anything is even open. We have been twice in early May many years ago...pre DVC and we are familiar with Thanksgiving week crowds and summer crowds but have never ventured down that weekend. I would love to hear your experiences about crowd levels and is it hard to secure something at one of the DVC resorts? Thanks

It isn't too bad. Busier than a normal weekend that time of year but probably less than other comparable holiday periods like MLK or President's Day. Most US schools are still in session at that time so it's a little early to plan those summer vacation trips.

The weather is nearing summer-like conditions at that time, though. Plan on temps in the 90s with high humidity and the chance of daily showers.

If you're considering Memorial Day 2010, I bet you would still have multiple options available for booking today with most resorts having something available.

We went for Memorial Day in 2009. We were able to get a 7 month reservation for a 1 bedroom at BWV. The weather was warm and the crowds were fine to us (we had previously traveled in summer and during new england's April vacation) but it did pour rain every afternoon/early evening -even more rain than we had seen in the summer "pop-up" showers.

Yep, many years! It's definitely felt more crowded the past couple years than previously, but still nothing horrific. And the weather is almost always lovely. None of my Mem. Day Wknd. stays have been on points, so I can't comment on that aspect. But I've procured CRO ressies mere weeks out without a problem, so long as I was flexible with resort options.

We were there, too - what a weird couple days! I live down here, about 1.5 hours from WDW, and that's not the norm for late May.

We were there in May this year for the weekend to use up some extra points. I don't think the crowds were that bad - more than October - but manageable. It wasn't as bad as I expected for a holiday weekend, but the weather was not great either.
