Are there any bad savannah view rooms at AKL?

I hope this isn't a stupid question, LOL!

I have never stayed in a savannah room.
I am planning on booking a savannah view room for my and DH's trip in Jan. And after paying the $$$ for the view, I would hate to get a bad or no view of the animals.

How can I avoid getting the Sunset Savannah, request another section?

Request the Arusha savannah... That is the biggest and best savannah. This is just my opinion but the Sunset savannah does not have as many animals. At least it didn't while we were there. Plus our view was of this weird caged in fence that didn't have anything in it... I was very disappointed with our view and felt it was not worth the money. They did offer to switch us to a different savannah but we had 2 little ones with us and we didn't want to switch rooms and they couldn't switch us for 2 more nights.... If it was a FREE upgrade then it would have been worth it.

That being said, I LOVE AKL..... The atmosphere is unbelievable... I was just disappointed with our view to the price of the room. Next time we will just request standard view and if we get an upgrade then GREAT...if not no biggie.

I have to agree. This is where our room was last year over Memorial Day weekend. We asked to be moved but there were no other rooms available. We were told to call back on Memorial Day (2 days later) when people would be checking out and try again. We called on Memorial Day and were given a room right across the hall on the Arusha Savannah and it was so much better. More animals and it is bigger.

I agree with Luv2Trav. Arusha Savannah has the best views. I had a room on Sunset Savannah, way at the end. It didn't even look out on most of Sunset Savannah, just a corner of it. And there was a penn area with blacktop or something along that line that took up much of the space. I was very disappointed with the view at first. But I must say that as I spent time there, I saw so many giraffes (my favorite), that I came to appreciate it more as the trip progressed. AKL is my favorite resort. Sending you pixie dust for a wonderful view

I had the Uzima savanah. It was nice, but would have prefered Arusha. We didn't have zebras at uzima savanah.

Yes there are some variations.

Yes, the savanahs have different animals. I believe they all have giraffes though.

Remember the animals are rotated amongst the savannahs on a schedule.
Some might be in a certain savannah one week and not the next.
