Are the washer/dryers in the laundry rooms pay or free?

We've previously used 2brs for stays, but may do a short studio. I've walked past the laundry rooms at BCV but never paid attention.

Thanks, Bob

Free though they do have slots that make them look like they are coin operated.

The former ones did. I remember having a strange "What do I do now?" moment with them. However, the new washers and dryers (at least as of 12/4) have just a push button to start them. I still can't figure them out though! Oh, and although there's a sign on the wall that says 30 minutes each for wash and dry, it took me more like 45 minutes each-but maybe that's part of the "couldn't figure them out" thing.

The washers and dryers at BCV are LG high effiency front load models. They use alot less water than top loaders (front loaders use 15-20 gallons of water per load and top loading uses 40-60 gallons of water per load). They are easy to use. Just put your clothes in, select what type of fabric (normal, perm press etc). Select water temp and spin speed. The higher the spin speed the longer the cycle, but the machine extracts more water out of the clothes lessening the drying time. The machine will automatically select the water level based on how full the tub is. Make sure that if you are using regular detergent not HE to use about a quarter of what you would use in a top loading machine. You can put more clothes in a front loader than a top loader. The machines at BCV are able to wash a king size comforter. The dryers have a sensor in them, so when the machine doesn't sense anymore moisture in you clothes it will shut off.

And that is today's lesson on front loading laundry. If you need more in please pm me.

There is only a limited number of washers and dryers in the laundry room. So you need to take your clothes out of the washer and the dryer as soon as they are done. You can't put them in and head to the parks like you can with the w/d in your villa.

I believe there is only one location at BCV and that is on the 4th floor. As you go out the elevator (the one nearest to the main entrance of BCV) go to the left and it is on the left side of the hallway. Trash maybe near there also. I used the trash room near our room. It was near the middle of the resort hallway where it splits off.

I'm pretty sure there's a trash place on every floor at BCV. It's in the same room as the ice and soda vending machine. Like the PP said, it's where the main hall and the side hall make a "T", about half way down the main hall. Actually, down that "T" has always been my favorite place to stay. Then, every morning, I bring a bag of trash from my room and drop it off in that trash room on my way to the elevators for the day.
