Are the odds good for booking same day...

In September, we plan to visit Vero Beach before our cruise. We will be coming from WDW.

I thought we would stay on Thursday night. Then on Friday we could either stay at Vero or drive up to PC to be closer to the cruise.

If we stay on Friday, we have to borrow points, and Friday points are VERY high (we will be using an Inn Room, which isn't as many points as the 1 or 2 bedroom units, but still a lot of points compared to Thursday's points).

So when we book, I am thinking of only booking Thursday. Then if we are having a great time and want to stay, I would like to just call that day and 'book' for another night.

Is this possible? Or do we need to make the decidion when we book in February.

I'd say it's very possible. Better yet, see what you can get for cash for that night and save your points.

Back in May we booked an entire week with arrival on the booking day. I went through Member Services and it wasn't a problem.

The one learning I gained was to make sure MS calls the resort to verify availability. If MS gives you an immediate answer then lookout. They should put you on hold while they contact the resort directly, then give you an answer.

Thanks! I will do this then. I will book for Thursday night, and then we will decide what we want to do on Friday after we have been there a day.
