Are the FALL resort discounts available during The Epcot Food & Wine Festival?

We are going to book our Disney package this week and will attempt to rebook if & when there are discounts released. We always stay for a few days before heading to our off-property resort. This year, we are considering the Beach or the Yacht Club. I am thinking due to the proximity to Epcot, there may not be discounts at these resorts in particular during the Food & Wine Festival. Does anyone know if the Fall discounts apply during this time, and or if these resorts are included? Thank you.

During our dates last year (the last 10 days of October), there were discounts available but were pretty much limited to lagoon view and above. I believe discounts were very sparse before October 20. There are a couple huge conventions in October which keep occupancy high as well.

We strongly considered re-booking BWI from YC because discounts were a little easier to find there but we ended up staying put (and it was great). So, it may be an option too.

The Fall (Oct-Dec) offer includes several blackout dates. For reference, here are last year's covered dates...

September 29 – October 2, 2013
October 18 – November 2, 2013
November 11 – 23, 2013
December 12 – 22, 2013

Booking prior to the offer being released gives you no advantage to getting the deal. In fact, it does more harm than good. It is best to wait until the deal is released to book.

Thank you for the info!!!! If it follows the same blackout dates we will be ok. My only concern about waiting for the discount to be released is that I would lose my 180+ 10 advantage for dining reservations.

Those were the GENERAL discount dates for all resorts. At BC and YC, in particular, the discounts were more limited and discount amount at BC was less than Disney advertised for deluxes (I believe 20% rather than 30%). I spent many days trying to get a better discount, LOL. As I said, expect that lagoon view will be the lowest room category available (garden view is our preferred category).

If you will be going no matter what, it is fine to make your reservations and gain the advantage of 180+10. If you would only go if you received a discount, I would hold off. JMO.

Came here looking for the same info! We're very interested in booking a long weekend in October for the F&WF. I want to get my airfare sooner rather than later before the prices go up, but I'm in a dilemma over the hotel since it seems like it may be a bit before discounts for that time. We went over Columbus Day weekend in 2010 and 2011 and lucked out both times with a 40% of PIN that covered our dates at BWI:cool1:. Would love to stay at BWI again but the rack rates are :scared1:.

Right now we can go either the weekend of 10/18 or 10/25 but I don't know which one to book. Boy I'd really kick myself if a discount comes out and it doesn't cover the weekend we pick but would've covered our other option:sad:. The 18th works slightly better for our schedule although it looks like the season changes right after that and the weekend rate goes down slighty. Not sure what to do:confused3!

I am booked at YC GV for end of Oct at RR. If I can't get the discount on the room or similar room at BC or BWI then I'm going to jump over to the Dolphin. The Resort view rooms there are about $236 a night (+$20 a night fee) but that still will save me around $1,100 on my room, which is about $300 more than the FD would save me for 2 adults. I used to stay at Swolphin every year many years ago and really loved it but wanted to try YC this year. I hope the discounts work out though so I can try YC or BC! popcorn::

That is a great rate! I was playing around with Swan pricing for the weekend of the 18th and when I crunched all the numbers (and added in transport to the airport) - it came to about $450 less for a traditional room at the Swan than what I'm finding RR for BWI. That chunk of change could go a long way toward stuffing myself at F&WF:rotfl:. But I really love BWI. So torn, and I'm terrible at the waiting game!:guilty:

I know what you mean! I want to know RIGHT now where I am staying and will just die if I have to wait until AUGUST for the discounts!! ::yes:: It's really hard to justify not switching for that amount of money. If it was only a little bit I'd eat it and stay YC but an extra grand..nope that will pay for my food and booze :rotfl2:

I think your odds of a discount are a bit better the weekend of the 25th at BWI. All just a guess though. OTOH, YC had a huge convention that same weekend in 2013 and was solidly booked so, if it is happening again, I would expect a discount there tougher to snag.

Thanks! I've been crunching numbers all day trying to come up with a plan I can live with even if we end up having to pay the dreaded RR. I think I've come up with something workable by doing a split stay! Just have to see if I can get all the puzzle pieces to fit now!:goodvibes

If you know for sure the dates you are going, you can still book ADRs without the package. It's just a restaurant reservation and not tied to your ticket or package until you go to pay for it if using the dining plan
