Almost every review I read on trip advisor says the pools are cold. Are they just being wussies or are the pools cold. Heading there in August. I hate cold pools. Also has anyone been to Germaine's? Thanks.

My understanding is that the pools are heated with the sole exception of Rainbow Reef, which is kept colder for the fish.

Pool temps are nice (just got back yesterday). Very similar to Florida Pools.

The pools are absolutely wonderful

Any idea why people are complaining? It seems to be a very common complaint on trip advisors. But then again people are complaining about alot of things that are out of the hotel's control.

Are you sure they weren't specifically talking about Rainbow Reef? That snorkeling pool is not heated, but all the others are. The only complaints I've heard about the pool being cold were all talking about Rainbow Reef.

We found the kid's play area to be coolish. My dd couldn't play too long without being freezing.

The wind in the play area is a big factor as well, it blows the spray everywhere and I found it cool-ish.

The main pool is probably the warmest. The lazy river is a bit cool when you first get in - but after a moment it feels fine.

This is coming from a Canadian :)

The pool temps fel around 70 degres which can be a bit cool for folks who aren't used to it... However, the pool temps are just a little cooler than the ocean temp.

Can't say specifically about Aulani, but it seems to me that they generally keep pools cooler than I prefer in Las Vegas, California, and Hawaii.
