Are people always like this? - A Solo Adventure Spring Break 2018 (Completed 5/20/18)

I agree, Thunder Mtn is definitely the best ride to hit up first at the MK! Have to ride it at least once during the day and once after dark...

I knew they changed the Red Head Scene in Pirates but didn't know they changed it to auctioning off chickens. That's...different.:rotfl:

Looked like a great day in the Magic Kingdom!

I am dreading my first ride on PotC with the new Auction Scene. I'm glad I get to see the original one more time at Disneyland before it leaves there.

I always put my feet on the other seat on the PeopleMover as well. I like to call the PeopleMover my "10 minutes of rest."

It’s not that bad but I feel it maybe could have been better. The AA itself is really good.

The Peoplemover is pretty relaxing when you’re by yourself.

A little late to the party, but I'm following!

Thanks for joining in!

Solid day at MK! I’m happy they kept the red head, that animatronic is so cool and has so much history behind it. You’re right though, they probably could have come up with a better storyline for her.
People Mover is one of my favorite breaks from the parks. So relaxing.

Agreed all around!

Definitely!

Yeah auctioning off chickens is different...

Pandora overall is my favorite land in all of WDW. The details are fantastic. FoP is interesting for those who deal with motion sickness. I’d put it somewhere between Soarin and Star Tours. It has more movement than Soarin but is smoother than Star Tours. In January friends of mine took Bomine (not sure if that’s how you spell it) because of the motion sickness factor and we’re fine after. If you can I’d recommend experiencing it once.
Love your trip report! Can't wait for our June/July trip! I agree with FOP for those who are prone to motion sickness. Take some Bonine or Dramamine and you should be fine. I get motion sickness pretty easy but was fine after the ride. I took Dramamine.

Thanks! Yeah I didn’t have to take it but others I was with did and they were fine after taking it.

Looked like a very fun day at MK! The auctioning scene on pirates seems a little weird but I'm sure we will all eventually get used to it. I saw on twitter a couple of weeks ago that some are speculating that they reused the Jane AA from Great Movie ride to be the new red head. If you look at a side by side comparison of the faces they do look similar.

It definitely seems like they reused an AA for the new red head. She looks very familiar...

They didn't use the original red head? I thought they did?

Rope drop is great as is BTMRR. I prefer the front seat but DD loves the back.
Thanks for sharing a pick of the new scene on PoTC
People Mover is a great place to relax

Front is a bit slower than the back. Peoplemover is definitely a great place to relax!

So, do you know what the total elapsed time for your 3 FoP rides was? Because the queue line (FP), preshow and ride itself seem to take at least 30 minutes. I'm thinking like 2 1/2 to 3 hours. I did it twice in a row, and it was fine. Motion sickness doesn't bother me too much, but I do take Bonine as a precaution at Universal.

That is GREAT news about the glasses! They were definitely slipping off of my face when I was on the ride.

Ha! Pretending to read the warning card reminds me of one of my favorite Ellen Degeneress bits, when she was just starting out in stand-up.

When she was told "Don't even think about it!" She said. "Ha! I'm thinking about it!" (Maybe you had to be there) (It was a lot funnier when she did it)

Flame tree is hit or miss. I really liked Harambe Market, so I would probably return there for a meal before going back to Flame Tree.

::yes::

So a few things you did for the RoL show probably would have improved my enjoyment of the show.

1) I liked your vantage point a lot, with the ToL in the background. Was it very crowded on the bridge? How were the water projections?
2) You weren't waiting an hour on a hard bench for the show
3) You wisely had popcorn on hand for the show.

That stinks about the problem with your room at the end of the night. UGH! That's good at least that they reimbursed your meal cost. ETA: I just saw that you got 3 FPs too. That might have made it worth it to me. Even with all the back and forth walking.

:thumbsup2

YAY for rope drop (or thereabouts) at MK!!!

Love Frontierland when it is empty like that. Big Thunder is my favorite, too.

Great pictures on Splash and Pirates. My pictures never come out well on those. I don't dare use my DSLR (I'm afraid my flash will go off), so I always try with my P&S. May I ask what settings you use? I really need to take an indepth photography course to understand my camera better.

OK, this is at least the second time that I have seen someone's ride photo on Splash where one of the other passengers reminds me of the annoyed woman on Splash who went viral

It was probably about 2.5 hours. I didn’t time that aspect of riding three times in a row.

I definitely enjoy the Harambe Market but I was closer to Flame Tree so I wanted to try it out.

No it was not very crowded on the bridge at all which I was surprised about. I walked up as the show was starting.

Yeah free meal and three FPs made up for it. The CM definitely tried to make everything better.

I didn’t use my DSLR for splash or pirates. I used my iPhone. For splash I actually was videoing much of it and taking pictures during the video portion.

I love the angry Splash lady! She has a twitter account I follow.

Joining a little late, but happy to be here. I have to agree, some of the behavior I saw in March baffled the heck out of me. Where did manners go??? I don't understand...

Thanks for joining in! Yeah I think I noticed the behavior more since I was solo but definitely strange.

Great morning pictures at MK! Love an empty Frontierland!

Thunder is one of my favorites too, and I agree that the back is WAY better!

Wow, an empty boat on Splash! It was closed on my trip in January, so I am missing that ride.

I'm glad I got to see the Auction scene before they changed it. I've watched videos and so far I'm not a fan but that could always change when I see it in person.

LOVE the Peoplemover. It's one of my favorites.

Thanks!

I missed out on Splash in January because it was closed and it was soooo cold.

Yeah I was happy to see it in January before the change and right after the change. It will take some getting used too.
