Are most of you 'once a year' Disney Cruisers???

Well since that 9/18 3 day I am HOOKED!!!!
I too was very depressed upon returning home knowing we can not afford to cruise again next year.
We LOVED the land and sea package we put together.
Best vacation ever.
I have already been checking into the prices for an estimate on a 7day in sept, probably won't happen until 2005 unless we have a financial windfall
:teeth:
will have to leave out the land part which will save us about $1000 plus waiting leaves us time to accumulate enouph FF miles for the whole family to fly free.
Doing all this planning and saving on the sly, if DH found out I was already obcessing about another cruise he would never let me hear the end of it,
Maybe I will make this a SUPRISE vacation.

PS westjones, I think I saw you and your family a couple of times on the ship by the pool and at the princess meeting but was too shy to come up and introduce myself, DH is the outgoing one he can talk to anyone takes me a while to screwup the courage.
If you saw 2 girls at the pool; one long blonde hair in a braid and a florescent orange ear plug the other with short brown hair those were my dd's my dh was sitting on the edge by the slide for a while on our boarding day.

Our first was Feb. 2000 then Nov. 2002, Nov.2003, Dec. 2004.........yep, looks like a pattern!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

February 22 1999 to March 1 1999 (land and sea)

February 17 2001 to February 24 2001 (Eastern)

February 16 2002 to February 23 2002 (Eastern)

February 15 2003 to February 22 2003 (Western)

Next planned cruise is February 14 2004 to February 21 2004 (Western)

DD will be off to college in 2004/2005, so I will lose my cruising companion. I hope to do the August 2005 birthday cruise if I can find a friend to go with me. I can't justify paying for two per stateroom rate if there will only be me:worried:

I spend the time inbetween reading the boards here, and dreaming of the next cruise. I have always had the next cruise booked before going on one, so there is less of a letdown, knowing I can reset my countdown timer!:goodvibes I hope by 2005 there will be a new itinerary to try.

Booked 12/01 for 11/02 after a 4night cruise on NCL 12/01
12/02 rescheduled the cruise for 11/03
Ive been a cruiser in waiting for a lllooonnnggg time - 23months
Hopefully next time it either wont take 2yrs to get onboard ship or we'll at least have it planned that way.

My parents are Fl residents, so they go 2 or 3 times a year on the 7 day. I went this past January and I am going back in November. I will keep going if my parents let me!

Okay, I've read this thread and now I'm scared. We are doing our first cruise in Feb and from what I've seen here I will probably be booking another onboard. Should I leave the credit card at home or try my luck at the lottery?:teeth:

DMOMof3: As I understand it, there are deals if you book while on board. So, if you know when you can cruise and that you can afford it, then you might want to book while on board. We did not know if or when we could afford to go again each time so did not do that.

Each family must do what works best for their finances and sanity. For us, it is not worth going when the finances are tight as we do not enjoy ourselves.

Yes they do offer a discount when we sailed just this past Sept they were offering a 20% discount on a 7 day cruise if you booked while on board. You also got a on board credit for that cruise I can't remember how much is was maybe $200 but don't qoute me.

Its a great deal if you are planning on cruising againand can go ahead and book it.

like JLSE50 we don't know when we will be able to afford to go again since we don't do vacations unless we have the money in our pockets.

I am starting my savings now for a possible 7 night in 2005:hyper: :hyper:

I REALLY want to go again.....once you go disney you never go back. They have ruined me for all other cruise lines::yes:: ::yes::

I will probably revert to a "once a year" cruiser now that they have taken Fidelio and Dueling Pianos off the Magic.

BIG DISAPPOINTMENT IN THAT STUPID ENTERTAINMENT DECISION!

I already told all the "suits" that were on our cruise (early August) my feelings so this comes as no surprise to them hearing it again.

I highly doubt if a woman decided to get rid of the venue.

So yes, I am going to consider just going once a year now....

we've been on five disney cruises in five years and i get depressed too when the trip is over because i shake in my boots thinking about saving up to go again. its just me and my daughter and son, both students, one in college and one getting ready to graduate high school, but being true blue disney fanatics we throw caution to the wind and book a trip and hope for the best that we can save enough to get there. they work on breaks and help out tremendously, if it were'nt for their dedication to the saving schedule we could never go as we have been so lucky to do the past five times. the sad note to the upcoming trip is this will in fact be our last one together as both are committed to future vocations, we're going all out with a four day cruise and then a seven day one with the parks inbetween, got our fingers crossed on this adventure that we can come through with the money.

My family and I went on our first disney cruise in March '99 when the magic was still the land/sea and then we took a year off and that was a little depressing and then we went back in October '01 for the 7nt eastern and we rebooked for the same week in '02 which was the western. In '02 we rebooked for '03 and this past week we rebooked for a week earlier so that we could go to antigua! so now i am really excited but i still have more then 300 days to wait... i don't know if there is any good way to pass the time....just suck it up and try! :(

First cruise: May 2002 7-night Eastern (no kids)

Second: May 2003 7-night Western (brought our 3 DD's)

Third will be: Oct. 2004 (but we may switch to December 2004 to experience the holiday festivities)

So far it has been once a year, but it is too expensive for us to keep it up forever!

One the first year, three the next, three this year and so far two in 2004, but probably will only take one of them.
