lower in price than regular ones?

We booked a AAA package (2 rooms/4 nights @ PPH + 5-day parkhoppers) for our family of 6 for December. Then we found out my DH's Army buddy is returning to Iraq in Oct. or Nov. (He was there previously in '05 and for Desert Storm.) So, we have invited his wife & 2 girls to join us on vacation. We'll give them a room & put 1 of our kids in there, and the other 5 of us will have the other room. They have never been to California or Disney.

Are military parkhoppers such a great deal that I should have their family get them for themselves? Or should I add AAA parkhoppers for them into our package so they can get the enhanced FPs? WWYD?

I don't know the specifics.....but just not having to pay sales tax can be a big savings....on the other hand, having EFP for just half of the group might be a drag, unless a few non-thrill riders in your family gave up their FP to thrill riders in the other group.

Thanks, Judy. My 4 year old and I are not thrill-riders, so we wouldn't mind giving up ours. Also one of our friend's DDs is not a thriller. So that leaves 6 wild folks and 3 mellow ones... a perfect split for the tix we would have if they get the military ones. However, if FP is offered for HMH and IASW Holiday, it'd be nice to have the EFP for everyone.

I am trying to remember exactly the price. I know on our 3 day passes we saved like $40 each and my dd3 was only $99. I remember they were a great deal. We could also use the early entry. If you call the MMR they will email you the prices.
Sorry I can't help you more.

That does sound like a sweet deal. Thank you, Monica.
I'm also considering whether I should get an AP for myself for this trip. I was planning to upgrade my 5-day PH to a PAP on the last day because I intend to return next year for my 40th b-day. Perhaps I could give our friend my PH, have her buy military hoppers for her kids, and I could get an AP in advance to take advantage of the dining discounts for our party of 9. That might turn out to be a worthwhile savings. Hmmmmm... lots to consider.

5 day hopper is 136 and 120.25 for 10+ and child

4 day hopper is 125.50 and 110.50

3 day 114 and 99

2 day 88.5 and 78.5 and 1 day 65.5 and 60.50

with that in mind, I actuallyfound it about the same to go through AAA and do the whole thing together. plus that way you get the perk of ee, etc. when you get the military discount you don't get the ee, or the unlimited fast pass, etc. . so each has +/- to it.

Thanks, Arliepooh. I have decided to include our friends in our package and just treat them to the works... let them save up so when her DH is back from Iraq we can all have another dual-family vacation. He's going to want to see Hollywood & Beverly Hills, as well as Newport & San Diego. That'll be a fun trip to plan, too. :wizard:

I called our local ITR office for a 2-day hopper and when she gave me the price, it was the same as buying them on line. She told me that sometimes it's cheaper to get them somewhere else. So, I guess it depends on what kind of tickets you're getting.

AAA has some good deals but not always. We bought tickets at our local AAA office for Bush Gardens in VA and found out, after I had bought them, that it would have been a little cheaper to buy them right at the park. Go figure!
