Are low priced airfares for april/may sold out or am i too early??

Still trying to book our flights from phoenix, az to orlando, leave on sat april 29, depart on (hopefully) monday may 8.

SW is now sold out on the cheap fares on april 29, america west only has a noon leaving flight so we arrive late-the morning flight is now double the price.

Other airlines dont seem to offer it at all.

Are they all sold out and i should just buy what i can, or am i too early and should not panic??

Not sure if this is the same for Az but Whenever we travel to Orlando from Conn in May we are able to get cheap fares (150 to 120.00 rt) but last year we went the last week of April and the lowest fare I found was 250.00 rt

Not sure if this is the time of year or if i just missed the good deals.

We are going in May again this spring and to date SW has not released any sale priced (DING Specials) for this time of year from Conn.

Wow those NS flights are $361 RT PP....We leave out of Albany,NY and they are now $261 RT PP.They started out at $237.40 so I decided to wait and see if they came down but they seem to be taking an uphill climb.Everytime I check the airfare is going up (not down like I want it to!).
You do have time to just keep a close eye on the airfares and hopefully they will have another sale to bring down the price of tickets to Florida.All we need is one airline to start an airfare war to Florida.....

It is an interesting trend, and I suppose we'll have to see how long it continues. The airlines as a group are bleeding badly given some of the fares they've been offering, so perhaps this is a sign that the taxpayers won't have to bail out another airline this year. We can only hope.

I finally booked last night for 4/29-5/6. I got tickets for $130 r/t out of MHT which is a great fare compared to what many others have to pay but we've been able to get them for $100-115 in the past but I didn't dare hold out any longer...as it is we have to fly into Tampa now instead of MCO because the flights we needed at the lower fares weren't available any longer. I was hedging over the only flight that was left into MCO because it was a late night arrival (we did that the last trip and we were exhausted the next day) and in the meantime the return flight we needed became unavailable so I said to heck with it and booked out of Tampa before I had any more regrets!! We have to fly in and out on the weekend so we don't have much flexibility with the dates. It's about an extra 40 minutes of driving to our timeshare from Tampa compared to MCO but we arrive at 6:00 pm which is a plus...we should be checked in to our timeshare by 9 pm at the latest vs 1 am if we had taken the late night flight into MCO. We'll be much more rested and ready to hit the parks the next morning!!

Hmmm. You maybe too early and too late.

All the preliminary low cost airfares maybe gone. However, if you wait until 14 days or 10 days out, you will get low fares on the flights that have lots of room.

We're going from CT to Orlando and paid $167/rt - we purchased it when they were first listed.

At least one of your choices is sold out, judging by the price increase I would say the other is getting close. I don't think things look good on those flights.

I hope this doesn't sound rude, but you have started about 4 threads on this very issue. None of us possess a crystal ball and all we can give you our "theories" and ideas. I really am not sure what you want here.....

I checked with our TA before booking our flight. She honestly does not see the airfares going down anytime soon. The cheapest she could find for us is $352 a person (including tax). We had our choice between flying out of Indy or Dayton, OH since we live an hour from both airports and Dayton was cheaper! That's a first.

I just purchased our airfare for my trip April 23-May 5th, and my daughter's April 30-May 5 and there were slim pickings for the return flight. We are going out of Dulles/Wash. DC.

yes carol, i have started a few threads about this, each a little different when different things happen, such as a flight was avail for a certain price, then it was gone and how the other airlines compare.

what are you doing, watching and counting every move i make??

Obviously others do have a reply for me, thats why i keep getting different responses, isnt that what these boards are for??

Not everyone sees the initial response or has something to say at that time. As you can see by the replies i get, others have something to say regarding what may or may not have just happened to them.

Why is it that you have to count my threads?? Ive been on these boards for years and no one has every had to count how many threads i have.

I do feel insulted that you do this. If you dont have something to say about my question, then leave it alone. Im asking everyone elses opinion, not waiting to have someone count my threads. Are you going to go to the other coards and see how many times i asked about a resort??

I would appreciate you leaving your 2 cents out if you cant be polite about it.

As I indcated I was NOT trying to be rude. However, since you felt the need to insult me both here and send me a nasty PM, I can start if you would like.

The majority of the responses to ALL of your posts have been the same... NO ONE KNOWS. None of us on this board have a crystal ball and the ablity to predict airfare. You may get lucky, you may not. You need to determine what you want to do.

My feeling is you want one of us to say "don't worry" you are getting a great sale next week. None of us can do that.

Don't worry, I won't respond again to any of your posts.

i am simply asking questions on this board,as i thought i was allowed to do. why you keep counting how many posts i put up everywhere is beyond me. the nasty pm that you refer to is the exact same post i put here to you. I wanted to make sure you got it. i didnt add or change a word.

i am not asking for a crystal ball, i am asking opinions, as most of us do on here. the flights change daily, sometimes hourly. what is wrong with asking for peoples opinions??

If you dont have a different opinion to my posts other than the same thing you type everytime and count my posts, then yes, i will be glad that you dont answer my posts and let the others who have something to say say it.
