They aren't legal here, but even as I speak, they're going off like crazy - and it isn't even the 4th yet.;)

They are legal to buy but not legal to set off. You have to sign something stating you won't set them off.

There are some that are legal but all the big ones are illegal.

not legal inside city limits at all, but we get a lot anyway, how ever not much we can say as city limits kinda follows our back property line:) all the nieghbors have to do is step across onto the old mans feild and voila not in city limits

legal in this small town, just stand on the porch and watch the free show from everyone else's yards

Not legal here either... but I am sure I'll hear/see a lot tomorrow and Monday :teeth:

They're legal here in most places. The really dumb thing is that while it's legal to buy them outside the city limits, it's illegal to even transport them inside city limits. Most fireworks stands are located where it's impossible to get from there to home without entering the city limits. Go figure....

Nope, not in Pinellas County, FL but in Hillsborough County (only about 2 1/2 minutes away) and everywhere else in Florida they are allowed to be sold and set off.

Tink

They're not legal here, but there are many runs to Maryland to buy them. There is always someone running down asking if you want them to pick anything up for you while they're there. I know many people who buy a lot each year and I'm sure they range from a couple hundred to over a thousand, depending who you're talking about. I think $50.00 to $100 in that stuff is more than enough for me!

Was funny, our town's fireworks just went off. We do ours before the 4th because on the 4th, they're set off at the lake, they also set them off tomorrow night at a local amusement park and it's televised, and then the Bryce Jordon Center (where we'll be tomorrow night) sets fireworks off to a turn of half a million dollars. So, this town always does them a day or two early. Anyway, I went out and looked down the street and there were 4 car alarms going off. The fireworks set them off. :p

Unfortunately they're legal in our county.

Doesn't mix well with wild fire season in my book!

No, but when we were little..I was little and my brother was in high school.

He set off fireworks in the yard to scare us..no shoes on. Well, there had been a drought and the lawn was a blaze in minutes. We lost our house.

Yes, they are legal in Katy, Tx..... Unfortunately! I'm actually considering going to City Council to try to put a stop to them. They were legal when Katy was a po-dunk town and now it's a thriving City with no place for such hazards. Too much property and too many folks are getting hurt.

My neighbors are very rude and refuse to stop setting them off until all hours of the night. My City doesn't even have a disturbing the peace law, so I have no recourse other than calling in a fire hazard to get them to stop. If they are careless and shooting them at cars driving by, then that's when it becomes an issue.

It's soooo ridiculous! In Houston tomorrow night, Disney is putting on the Grand Fireworks Show, so it should be nice and controlled...

Here in South Carolina it's illegal if you DON'T set off fireworks!! Hahaha We're just a bunch of rebels.

They is illegal here. But buy them at the local Sam's Club. And about 5 minutes outside the city limits.

Since I live close to you...nope....but I also have been hearing them go off for about the last hour or so. Just firecrackers...nothing like bottle rockets.... yet.

Yes it is legal here, but not the really big fireworks or roman candles, more like firecrackers.

No, thank gooness-I would hate to see them become legal here.
We went to a fireworks show tonight and will be going to one tomorrow-I like to leave them to the professionals.

I'm also in Katy and I wish they would ban them!!
We have stupid drunk neighbors that are very careless with them.

"Safe and Sane' fireworks are legal to be set off in the city limits on the 4th of July only.
The illegal ones are easy to get around here as there are many Native American reservations nearby......and the police and sheriffs look the other way for the 4th and as long as there are no complaints.
Tomorrow at our annual BBQ....we will be setting them off for about 2 hours......the "guys" hit the reservations today and spend a small fortune.....plus our guests tend to bring a lot because they are all illegal in a lot of the neighboring towns and cities.
