Are EMH worth it?

We've been to Disney a lot, but this is our first time staying on-property. I have heard that the EMH cause the parks to be crowded on that day. So are they worth it? We're going June 1-9.

I hate crowds and heat (so why go to WDW in June:rotfl: )? The plan is to go to the parks on a day with historically low attendance and catch early morning EMHs, and avoid evening EMH parks altogether on those days. This does actually work out for each park during our stay, believe it or not!
I don't think we need to spend every possible moment at the parks, so the extra time isn't a big attraction if it's going to be crowded. I wonder if we should avoid the EMH parks entirely?

That is exactly what we do. Then we leave the EMH (morning) after a couple of hours when it starts to get busy and hop to a different park.

Have fun!

We have found that on EMH am days the following:

MK - worthwhile if you are there before the rope drop or shortly thereafter and concentrate on Fantasyland OR Tomorrowland and then be read to go to Frontierland promptly and then work down to Adventureland

AK - don't go there - this park does not handle EMH's well in our experience - just too many people chasing too few popular attractions

Epcot - easy to tour on a non-EMH day

MGM - mixed bag here - if you want to hit RNR/TOT and like being up early, by all means go for it

Cheers

It can be worth it IF you have park hoppers, with the exception of AK. That park gets very crowded for the AM extra hours and everyone runs to the safari at opening. At the other parks just be there at rope drop with a plan. Before noon when the park gets crowded, hop to another park.
Our family stays onsite, but we don't spend the extra $ on the hopping option so we avoid the parks with the extra hours.

Thanks for the advice! We don't have park hoppers, but don't mind cutting out early for a siesta and then coming back. In fact, I purposefully didn't get park hoppers just so we'd be forced to take a break if we got tired of one park.

This will totally change our schedule. Much thanks!

Is it true that EMH in the evening cause the park to be crowded the whole day? I was assuming that was true, but don't know for sure.
