Are DVC folks still using the TIW cards? I see they are 150 now..

I think this is Disney's plan to phase out the TIW card. First make it not worth the cost to many that use to buy it, now make some dining discounts available from other sources.....then they say, the sale of the TIW membership is slipping, so no longer worth offering it......

Yikes... plus I see the restaurants are limited.

Don't be fooled. Limited restaurants plus booze plus valet.....

Tables still way ahead... for me at least.

MG

I was thinking the same thing . . . some of the restaurants we have booked for our upcoming trip are not included. That and the booze make it worth it for me to get TIW, at least for our next trip.

With this new AP/DVC perk that just got announced, this might sway me into the I'm not getting a TiW card....

4 TS restaurants (that we have adr's) for are on the list. as well as a QS too.....>I'm sure it'll be a game time decision though.

I think we are going to SKIP the TIW for this Oct. trip...... since the new discounts came out. We aren't big TS peeps anymore. I mean we will eat one most days but 10% and some 20% are good for us.

FWIW, I thought I would miss the free valet but I have not. If I go to a resort restaurant I simply self-park and *gasp* walk to the front door of the resort. It's really not a big deal and I've never been turned away if I have an ADR even during super busy times between Christmas and New Years. I *do* miss the TIW cocktail discount but not enough to make a difference.

I believe these new discounts are valid until the end of next September.

I have a new TIW but I'm not annoyed because I'm still getting the booze discounted.

Our TIW from last year is still good for this trip anyways. I only think one of our TS adrs is 20% off for ap/dvc. The rest are 10%.

The quick service discount on our hotel qs is huge though! Will save us a ton.

Now that the dust has settled on this ap news, I took a look at my dining plans for my trip in 2 weeks. I've had my TIW card since my May 2016 trip and used it on my August trip too. On my upcoming dining plans only one restraurant is on the AP list. My reservations at beaches&cream (3 times), via Napoli, Liberty tree (2 times), 50s prime time (2 times), and the plaza restraurant are not on the ap 20% list. Only coral reef is on the AP list. I got my money's worth on my TIW card so feel better. I am excited about the resort qs discount, so have the best of both worlds

I was initially very upset over this bc we JUST dropped $150 on a new TIW last month but like you, after reviewing the limited list of 45 participants I realize there are still a lot of places we like that are missing. BOG, Mama Melrose, 50's Prime Time, Via Napoli (where we ALWAYS get Sangria), The Plaza, LTT, O'hana etc. I haven't made any ADR's (yet) for our January trip but will be sure to take advantage of going to THOSE places whenever I can. I do like that we have a couple other choices with TIW at AK park too (Pizzafari & Restaurantosaurs & the Nomad Lounge). IF we stay at AK next summer (don't have that trip planned yet) then we can definitely use the new AP CS option at the Mara (which we love). We will also use it at Pecos Bills & Backlot Exp. We recently tried Tiffins for lunch in Sept. and LOVED it so we'll be returning there too - which is now on BOTH lists BUT with TIW we can cover cocktails too. Likewise we tried the outdoor patio at the Brown Derby - but with TIW we'll get drinks covered. So I suppose it's not as much of a slap as what I originally thought. It only sucks a little bit. :rolleyes1

Sandy and I renewed (bought a new) TIW card today....

We did this because TIW has few restrictions. That so called Anniversary Deal, to us, is a joke. Restrictions all over.

YOU should do as you choose.... For US? New TIW, no games, everyone else should have a nice day :).
