Are they the same? I'm looking on an unofficial site and it lists that as an option at Aloha Isle... saying its either vanilla, chocolate, pineapple, or swirl ice cream... but I thought when I had it at disneyland it was similar but NOT ice cream.

it's more of a custard/soft serve vs ice cream, the one I enjoyed @ DL tasted the same as WDW's offering.

No, they're not the same. I like the Disneyland ones better.

There was a post regarding allergies that noted WDW's is dairy based. While it is lactose-free it still contains milk proteins. Disneyland's is not dairy based.

Wow, I had no idea that they served Dole Whips at DL, I thought the only two places you can get them was at WDW or some place in Hawaii. We are planning on going to DL for the first time next September, I am so glad I can still get my Dole Whip fix while there :cool1:. Does anyone know if they serve the Dole Whip Floats as well?

The booth is right at the Tiki Room. They have the pineapple dole whips, and the floats, and pineapple spears. Its all pineapples, so that's why I did the original post to question if the ones at WDW are the same. If you go to DL to get them, a "secret" is that you can wait for the tiki show outside, and there's also a line from the waiting area to get the dole whips while you wait. The cast members switch between the outside window and the window facing the waiting area. Even if you do not want to see the tiki show, you can get in there, get in the inner line to get them, and then leave the waiting area.

How can they be different? :confused3

All Dole Whips are made from a powdered mix, even the ones at the Dole Plantation. (maybe the water could alter the taste)

It contains Sodium Caseinate but is considered lactose free. Its not at all dairy based.

I would post the ingredients but if you like them you really don't want to know whats in them.

I've seen some places call it ice cream, and when I saw there were 4 flavors at WDW, I became skeptical that what you described only applied to disney land.
