I was wondering how the temperature inside most disney restaurants is. We are going in october and one of the restaurants we are really wanting to dine at is Boma at AKL. My children (mostly DD6) are cold natured and we are trying to figure out wether to take jeans(if that's appropriate) for her or if shorts(if that's appropriate) will do. Can anyone give me some feedback on this? Also, like I said above, are all disney restaurants the same as far as temperature? Thanks

We were there in August and the AC seemed to be CRANKED! My Daughter spent our dinner at California Grill wrapped in an extra tablecloth that the server was sweet enough to bring her!

I'd say it wouldn't hurt to at least bring a sweater to dinner.

Oh yes. I ate at CP, and I was absolutely FREEZING!

I'm pretty much cold everywhere there. Even the buses. And the theaters for 3D movies (Philharmagic, MuppetVision, etc). Especially cold in the restaurants. Some are better than others, if I recall, Boma wasn't terribly cold due to all the people walking around and it being in pretty close quarters.

If you or your kids get cold easily, I strongly suggest you carry a light jacket that you can tie around your waist or drop in a stroller, bag, whatever. They can get a bit chilly.

Even in June, the AC was cold. It felt good for about 5 minutes then I'd start shivering. Definately take a jacket.

I was just there in July and it was FREEZING. like the pp said, it was nice for 5 minutes, then it was COLD. In the resturaunts as well as the indoor attractions. Take a sweater/light jacket/ take longer pants if your legs get cold and it especially drives you crazy.

I had the experience of Boma being exceptionally cold.

i have found myself FREEZING on several occasions while dining at Disney.... sci-fi and shutters come to my mind as being the coldest.

i stuffed a lightweight shrug in my bag to at least cover my arms when eating at such cold restaurants.... i am a "cold sensitive" sort of person though. my fiance however had no problems.

Never had any problem with WDW restaurants being cold. Actually, it's a relief to get out of the heat!!

I'm always cold in the restaurants, but I don't remember it being a problem at Boma at all. I know I had a sleeveless dress on.

I always keep a long-sleeve layer with me in my bag for this reason. The difference in temperature between hot/humid and air conditioning is refreshing for five minutes (as one of the other posters said), then it feels too cold.

I started carrying a long-sleeve denim shirt in my bag on my last trip, and it worked like a charm. Not as heavy and hot as a sweatshirt, and you can wear it unbuttoned over a t-shirt. Plus, you can roll the sleeves up. It packs smaller than a sweatshirt, too, taking up less room in my bag.

FL restaurants (and really all retail establishments) in general keep their AC set very low. We try to always bring a jacket, otherwise we freeze! We have lived here for over two years and still remark on it. I can't imagine what an electric bill looks like for one of these places. They could have the temperature ten degrees higher; it would still be cool, but comfortable. Definitely bring a jacket!

To the OP, you also mentioned that you are going in October. For that reason alone I would be sure to pack "layering" clothes, including jeans and a sweater. The weather can vary this time of year. It is possible that morning and evenings will be cool, even if it is warm during the day.
I say, be prepared for varying temperatures.

I froze at almost every restaurant I was at. My family didn't, but I did. I always got stuck hauling a jacket with me in hot weather.

I always carry sweatshirts in a bag for my family, every night at our TS restaurant. Sometimes it's cold, sometimes not.

This past May, DD12 FROZE (where's the 'freezing' smilie, I can't find it), at LTT.

In Jan. 2006, I remember my entire family freezing in CP.

We bring a shirt or light jacket with us everywhere at WDW. The AC at a lot of the indoor attractions is too chilly a contrast to the outdoor heat for me & DW!
