I've missed part of my window to make reservations and I'm just wondering if I'll be eating at McD's the whole time because I didn't make a bunch of PS reservations?
You have plenty of time, I'd call now! I think with the dining plan that most table places will be booked and accepting few walk-ups, so many people are doing the free one in the fall.
From reading other posts on the restaurant boards it does seem like there are more and more "turn aways" due to the new dining plan. You still have time, I'd make a few PS (or AR's now) just to be safe.
I don't usually make all of mine at the 90 day mark, but with the free dining package and all of the activities on these boards, I will be on the phone starting this Thursday and everyday for the next 9 days after. We have a party of 9, so getting into the must go places on our list is important. We plan to visit, LeCellier, CRT, Concourse, Kona, 50sPT, Plaza and a few others, and possibly the same places twice. Normally I start to call about 30 days out, but plan not to wait. I think if the OP is a table for 2 and is extremely flexible in what time they eat, it might still be possible to get into a place the morning of. Keep in mind that also the parks are not open late in September, which cuts down on the dining times at the parks for dinner. (except EPCOT which is always open until 9:00). good luck.
Because of the MYW free dining offer, I would make AR's if I was going during September. We typically eat one counter service and one full service restaurant per day, so if I were going, I would make an AR for the full service restaurants that were on my not-to-be-missed list. You have plenty of time to make your AR's; unless you want a coveted CRT or LTT on Thanksgiving day, or some other hard to get into spot, it is not necessary to make AR's at the 90 day mark. Note you can always make an AR and then cancel it the day before, or day of, if you change your mind and want to try something else.
