Are Crocs that wonderful?

I have read several threads that suggest that Crocs don't give you blisters and are wonderful for a full day of walking/standing. Plus you can get the wet without them staying wet all day like tennis shoes.

All of this sounds wonderful. Before I order a pair, just wante some feedback. Are they really that wonderful?

I bought me a pair to try them out before I go this summer. I now have 2 pair. I'm very interested in the posts that you get here. My feet don't hurt after being on them all day like they do in tennis shoes. My only problem is wearing them without socks my feet get a little sticky. I think I can put up with that just so my feet won't hurt. I hope they work for me. No one will be able to miss me in my bright yellow ones. :rotfl2:

Well, I bought a pair pre-trip and ended up wearing tennis shoes our first 2 days because I was still skeptical since I'm not used to that kind of shoe. The kids wore theirs (actually I bought them Airwalks, mine were actual Crocs) and their feet seemed fine, so I wore mine for the next 3 days. While they were very comfortable (mostly), I wound up with a blister that is a little over an inch long on the side of my foot, just forward of the heel, and I wasn't wearing the strap. I don't know if it is just because I'm quite the tenderfoot and am not used to sandle-type shoes or what, but it is quite painful. The kids had some "hot spots" after the first day, so I followed advice and keep molefoam on theirs, and they never because full-blown blisters like mine. Unfortunately, I didn't catch mine early enough and have one painful foot. So, I don't want to scare you away because a lot of people love them... and they are comfortable, just wanted to share my experience. I also used Body Glide on my feet and think it helped to some degree. HTH.
Kitsel :confused3

My Mom bought me a pair to wear on our April 2006 trip. I was only there for three days but I wore the Crocs two days in a row and they were great. My feet did not hurt AT ALL! I also noticed my legs didn't get as sore- maybe because the crocs are so light?? I loved the ventilation because I hate it when my feet get hot and the fact that they dry so quickly after going through splashing fountains w/ my kids. I loved them....even bought Mom a pair for Mom's Day this year and now she loves them too! BTW, I was also 7 mths pregnant when we went!

They seem to run wide...do they adjust to your feet?

Mine are the beach style and they are pretty wide. I have very narrow feet and I have been fine w/ the way they fit. I've heard people say they don't like the fact that they are wide but I think that is how they are made to fit. The tag on mine stated that your feet should have enough space so that your toes and the sides are not really touching the shoe. This reduces the pressure points and is one reason they're so comfy. As you wear them, they should gradually sort of mold to the shape of your foot. This helps keep your foot in place. They do look a little funny- especially on me I'm sure because I sort of have bird legs- they must look a little like duck feet :rotfl: Also, if the strap on the back feels tight- stretch it a bit by pulling on it- just make sure you don't pull where the strap connects to the shoe.

I love my crocs! Oh, and they are not supposed to touch the edges of your feet like tennis shoes, which may be why they seem wide. :thumbsup2

I love my crocs. I love wearing them. We got a pair for my mom and she loves hers. We got a pair of them for my honey bear of a hubby, but his feet are really fat. So he is having a bit of a hard time to get them comfy on his feet. Unfortunately, we couldn't get a pair for my daughter as she has small feet and she is four years of age.

Tribus121..How big are your dd's feet? I saw them the other day as small as size 6-7...my girls are in sizes 8-9, and 10-11

luv my crocs!

have foot problems that required injections for year, haven't needed any since the crocs have become my primary shoes.

only problem I have w/them is how they feel when they do get wet...don't like the slippery/sliding around feel.

i do usually wear them w/no-show socks, fit better IMO.

don't like them for all day in the parks, still prefer NB for support...find that it's easy to turn ankle in crocs if you're not careful.

Wow! Your dd must have small feet! I've seen them to fit my 2 yo ds. I've been told my boys have pretty big feet though.....

We actually went the Airwalks route. Haven't gone to Disney yet, but the entire family has stopped wearing ANYTHING else - they are so comfy. (Except poor dh, who still has to wear his dress shoes to work, lol. I can get away with the Airwalks at work.) My kids especially love them and all their friends want a pair now, lol. I had to stretch my straps a bit to keep my toes from bumping the front, but now they're perfect.

Thanks for the feedback. Sounds like they are worth a try. Where do you find them? I see them on people everywhere, but I haven't seen them in stores. I thought of ordering them on-line, but would rather try them on before buying.
I agree about the duck feet. I have big feet and little legs so I am sure they will look funky on me, but who cares if I am comfortable.

I just bought the Traps from sears yesterday they are 12.98 and i had a 5 dollar coupon. I tried on the crocs and they felt the smae, looked the same and look like they are made of the same material. They seem comfy but i have only worn them in the house so far. I just cant spend 30 bucks on shoes so ugly. I am however buying the flip flop for me an Dh before we go in August.

Well, we just returned a few weeks ago from a 10 day Disney trip so I'll give you my experience. Buying crocs was absolutely the best $30 spent ever! I took a pair of crocs and a pair of tennis shoes. After wearing the crocs for the first two days, I decided to try my tennis shoes. My feet were absolutely killing me in the tennis shoes. After that, it was crocs for the remaining of the trip. I think I did try the tennis shoes one more time and had the same results. The tennis shoes are a couple of years old so they were really broken in. In fact, I wore them last year on our trip. I bought the crocs a day or two before we left. You would not believe the difference it made on my feet. I swear I am not making it up.

I also used body glide on my feet. But, because my feet were a little greasy after putting on the body glide, I couldn't put on the body glide and then immediately put on the crocs. Instead, I would put on a pair of socks to wear while I was getting ready. By the time we were ready to leave for the parks, my feet had mostly absorbed the body glide and I wasn't sliding around in the crocs.

The only problem I had was that I experienced something similar to northwestmom. It's kind of hard to describe so bare with me. On the side of my left foot where the skin changes from the your heel to your ankle, I got a big blister of some sort. It looked and felt like a blister, but when I tried to pop it, there wasn't anything but a mass of skin. It did hurt, but I just kept body glide and some other medicine on it. It didn't effect my walking. I'm not really sure how I got a blister (?) there because there was nothing rubbing against that area.

Oh! Bodyglide works great! My husband wore tennis shoes the entire time. He used the bodyglide and said his feet didn't sweat any. He was really impressed with that purchase. That will also be a mandatory purchase each subsequent trip. It wasn't easy to find. I had to go to their website to find a store in my area that sold it. I also used it on my thighs and didn't have any problems.

Hope this helped!

Don't blame you, I didn't want to buy them online either. We found them at Dillards for $29.99- they had a huge selection of colors and sizes. They also had the flip flops, the Caymens (very similar to Beach style) and the Islanders (although these were around $50) You may want to check out Crocs.com (if you haven't already) to see all the styles.
