Are CR TPV rooms and Poly CL rooms ever discounted?

Does disney ever offer any room discounts or the ever elusive Pin code on either the CR TPV rooms or Poly Cl rooms? Do they ever have the free DDP with them?

Planning a fall, probably late Oct 2014 trip either solo or with 1 other adult for a week (and a 2nd week somewhere else on Disney property with friends). So if there is no room discount would free dining, if offered, make sense?

Yes they are included in many offers. Many people will only stay there with 30% or more off.

I have Poly CL booked for April under the 40% military discount, so yup! At least that one is included in the discount.

We stayed PolyCL at IIRC a 35% discount in January 2010. It was wonderful and got us hooked on Deluxe and CL!

Yes, but not always. Depends on availability etc. I enough people are booked at rack rates, there's no need to discount.

We stayed CR TPV in June 2010 for $300 per night. Haven't seen a discount that generous, even for the GW rooms, in the last year.... (For example, AP rate for CR TPV for last week of October this year is $494 per night before taxes. Even the Garden Wing is $304)

Can't speak for the Poly, but we have gotten CL rooms at good discounts in the past years. (AP rate for Poly GV CL end of Oct is $380, LV CL $478 and TPV CL is $504)

As for 2014, who knows what type of discounts will even be offered by then. Each year the rack rates go higher and the discounts are less.

In 2010, we got a pin code that gave us 40% off of Poly CL and this year we just got back from Poly CL with free dining. We were there at the end of August both times.

Yes, CR TPV and Poly CL rooms are often included in promos. With that said, as with any discount, the number rooms offered can vary. Even if a resort is included, a particular room type might not be depending on what occupancy levels are at that particular time. We were looking at a trip for December and when I priced out free dining, all categories at the CR, as well as the Poly, were available. As far as room discounts, if a resort is popular, the percentage off might only be 20-25% when other resorts are 30-35%. But as others have said, with only 2 people, a room discount would most likely be the bigger savings (especially at a deluxe).

I actually stayed in a TPV CR room over July 4th (3rd to 6th) and had a discount - which pleasantly surprised me. I did notice that just the TPV rooms were excluded from one of the recent discounts (I want to say the AP, but I'd have to go back and read the fine print), so you never know for sure.

It can be harder to get a discounted CR room because it is a convention hotel, and they reduced the number of available rooms when they built BLT. But they do exist. Poly is usually included in the promos, but the rooms go quick, so you need to be willing to act fast if you see either one on a promo.

I agree. I had a TPV at CR but when the fall discounts came it, it wasn't on the list. I was able to switch to the Poly CL and saved maybe $100. Then the AP discount came out and I got the Poly CL for another $200 less.
