are any of these lenses "convertible" to a Rebel?

Went into the guest closet to check out the old camera bag.

Above was what I found, minus the two old bodies not pictured.

Here is what is written on each, from left:

Minolta MD 50 mm 1:1.7 o49mm

Vivitar MC 70-210 mm 1:3.8 o52mm

Soligor C/D 70-150mm 1:3.8 o55mm

SMC Pentax-M 50mm 1:1.7

Vivitar 2800 Flash

Soligar Auto Tele Converter 2x to fit Pentax

plus two UV filters, 49 mm and 52 mm


My main question is, can ANY of the above be used with a Canon Rebel?

My secondary question is, if they aren't compatible or convertible (re-chipping?) are they re-sellable/worth trying to list on ebay to put money toward another lens that would work with the Rebel?

Can someone give me a run down of what the numbers mean?

Are those numbers with the colon an aspect ratio or do they concern aperture?

What does the little number with the "o" with a mark through it at the end of most of them?

oh, and what is that converter thingee?

I would think the problem would be the mounts so do you know what camera they went with? ie pentax canon, nikon....i have emailed canon usa a couple times with questions like this and they have been helpful.. or maybe the lens manufacturers could tell you...any eos lens is "rebel worthy" but don't know about any of these. as far as ebay, you could do a search and see if any of the same are listed and what the price is they sell for but then again you would have to know what mount it is...imo every little bit helps if you have no use for them maybe check out the budget forum on here, they used to have a thread about selling stuff on ebay

The "Soligar Auto Tele Converter 2x to fit Pentax" doubles the magnification of Pentax lenses when mounted on a Pentax camera(also loses at least one stop of aperture).


I imagine that with adapters(converters) you could mount them on a EOS like the rebel, but it is really not worth the trouble and that might be the reason no one really produces the needed adapters. There would really be NO FUNCTIONALITY other than holding the lens in front of the rebels sensor, NO AUTO ANYTHING(focus, metering, stopping down, etc...).

One of the more popular adapters lets EOS cameras mount CANON FD lenses, these adapters are readily available on EBAY and even camera shops such as B&H. But even those adapters are not in real demand.
