Are any of the shows on DCL...

Any good? What kinds of shows are on board?
Are you asking about the production shows? Yes, several of them are very good. One has even won awards. There are a couple that aren't so good, IMO.

Or do you mean the individual entertainers (magicians, comedians, etc)? I think there's only one act in our 11 cruises that I didn't care for.

I didn't know about the individual entertainers. Are there different entertainers each time?

In my opinion, again - IN MY OPINION, I'd rank the shows in 3 groups
1 - Very good to excellent
Tangled
Dreams
Twice Charmed
Golden Mickeys

2 - Good
Aladdin
Wishes

3 - Fair
Believe
Villains Tonight

The individual entertainers do change from cruise to cruise, but some are often on one DCL cruise or another. You can look here:

to get an idea of the different acts on the cruises.

For me have to move Believe and even Villains to good as well.

I really think Tangled is in a class by itself!

I suppose I also like Aladdin and Believe more than you do, too!

Most of the musical productions performed by the DCL cast members outshine the shows on other cruise lines.

Depending on the length of the cruise, the nights that don't have the musical productions are filled with magicians, comedians with G-rated material, and sometimes guest soloists. On the first DCL Hawaiian cruise they brought in a group of youth dancers from a local hula company. Very talented. On our Panama Canal cruise they brought in Susan Egan, who was the original Belle on Broadway, and the voice of Meg in the Hercules animated feature.

We had Susan Egan on the EBTA, also.

I think Tangled is an amazing show. I also like The Golden Mickeys. Dreams, Believe, and Wishes are all kind of interchangeable for me, but I do like how they highlight various Disney movies and characters. I don't care for Twice Charmed or Aladdin very much, but will watch them. Once was enough for both Toy Story and Villains tonight

Have you seen the new Twice Charmed? They reworked it, adding new songs and costumes. It premiered on our EBTA.

Saw it last fall, so that must've been before they reworked it. No plans to be back on the Magic again soon, but I'll have to get it another shot.

They have Tangled? Is it like a retelling of the movie? Have they updated the Golden Mickeys?

BTW, :thanks: for your replies!

It's, obviously, the same story line. Some new songs, as well as ones from the movie.

The Golden Mickeys has been update, sort of. I know on the Dream they've reworked some of the sections to include Frozen as well as some new Disney movies. Not sure whether the rewrite has made it to the Wonder yet.

Did they get rid of pirates night and replace it with Frozen?

Alaskan and Northern European cruises don't have pirate night or fireworks. When we did Alaska, it had a Pixar party one night. I don't know if that is still happening, or if it has been replaced by Frozen. Our cruise was pre-Frozen craze. Haven't done a British Isle cruise, so don't know about those. We have an upcoming Mediterranean cruise that has pirates and Frozen.

I'd have to say Tangled and Aladin were amazingly done, and they were my children's favorites, however I actually really liked the unique shows more.
I'd rank them:
Believe
Wishes
Tangled
Dreams
Aladin
Twice charmed

(Haven't yet sailed the Dream or Wonder)
