Are any chain restaurants open on CHRISTMAS?

I know, I know...one holiday at a time. Here I am already gearing up for the next one already.

I called around to a few local restaurants and they will all be closed. One that I thought was a sure bet is closed because "The Packers are playing the Bears and it will kill our business." That came straight from the manager.

We really don't want to be cooking on Christmas, and would rather head out to grab a bite to eat.

Does anyone work for (or know of any) restaurants that will be open on Christmas Day OTHER than Chinese?

My son works at a restaurant that is open on Christmas but it's not a chain. It's his biggest tip day of the year. He usually clears $600 in tips for the day. He will never pass up that day and we really do not care about it. College students need the cash!

Waffle House is open if you have one nearby, and I think Denny's is, too but not 100% on that - it isn't "big" here; not a chain, but the Japanese steakhouse close to us is open. Otherwise I'd find one open the day before and order takeout to be reheated on Christmas day.

Many, many Chinese restaurants are open on Christmas.

If nothing is open, you don't have to make a big, fancy dinner...

last year we ate grilled cheese with tomato and bacon with fries!

Christmas Eve is the big family time, Christmas day is completely lazing around doing nothing.

I know our McDonalds is open all day Thanksgiving!

Buca di Beppo is open on Thanksgiving, so I'd imagine they are open on Christmas as well.

We almost always have Chinese on Christmas night. It started when DH and I were dating and went separate places for Christmas Day and then that night were starving and found a Chinese place open for dinner.

Chinese! Absolutely! They are busier on Christmas Eve, but surprisingly still lots of people there on Christmas too.

When I was picking up some pies at Village Inn this afternoon noticed a sign that they would be open on Christmas day.

Cracker Barrel and Luby's are open. Also Golden Corral if you're truly desperate.

I think IHOP is opening as well

IHOP is. That's our Christmas plans. We will be at Great Wolf Lodge Christmas day. Christmas Eve will be soup from a crockpot in the room that my MIL is bringing but going out for Christmas dinner is a must. I called the IHOP I was thinking of to make sure and they told me they diden't know of any IHOP that would be closed. Still though you could call to check.

You guys are lucky with your Chinese restaurants! Most of the owners of the Chinese restaurants around here have moved away from Buddhism, and therefore take xmas off. Which is a bummer for us because we don't celebrate that day and would like some tasty food!
