Arabian Nights Dinner Show Question

Glad I found this thread- well, kind of. The reviews are so mixed! I wanted to take my daughter (age 12) to the Medieval Times (she has always wanted to go, and the on here in Boston is sort of "age restricted", I guess they feel they have to be extra bawdy there), so I thought the Orlando show would be good- and I had heard good things from others.

The price for Medieval Times is crazy, though. My research found Arabian Nights for as little as $30.77/adult and $23.99/child (here is the link if anyone is interested: http://www.dwtickets.com/Discount_Arabian_Nights_Tickets_s/60.htm
and if anyone has a bad experience with this company, please post!)

So I am thinking, I know the food is not stellar going in- not a problem. I have no desire to drink the "all you can drink" included beer/wine, so not a problem if it's swilly. My daughter LOVES horses (what 12 year old doesn't??) so I am leaning toward saving a few bucks and choosing Arabian Nights over Medieval Times.

Does anyone have other suggestions for dinner shows? (we'll only do one) Not the pirate show, she's not into pirates. Also, I don't mind spending more $ if it's worth it, but I'll go cheap if it's a cheesy show and only fair to edible food.

TIA!!! gimme a dancing banana...

We really enjoyed the Outta Control Magic Comedy Dinner Show at Wonderworks on International Drive. The food is popcorn, salad, pizza and cake, and it's pretty good - not the best meal you'll have on your trip, but it's decent. They offer soda, wine or beer.

The show is very funny for all ages. My daughter is 5 and she laughed the whole time, as did my husband (well, maybe that says something about his mental age...). There is lots of interaction with the audience, too.

And the price is the best part, around $25 for adults and $17 (I think) for kids. We also found a coupon in one of the free books you can pick up that saved us a couple of bucks each.

OP here--Just wanted to say that we went to the Arabian Nights show on 5/27/09 and was not impressed. We have a 10 yr old daughter and she loves horses too and she thought the show was ok. My DH and I thought the show was very strange. The storyline was not good and the food was poor. I had grilled chicken (rubber!), Veg-all (they called it steamed veggies), mashed potatoes (instant), roll and some vanilla ice cream with some chocolate syrup on top. DH had the steak with all of the same sides. He didn't care for his food either. Thankfully, I had gotten some tickets from a fellow DISer or I would have been so upset that we had wasted money on this show. We definitely have no plans to return! Just our opinion!!!!

I meant to add that we have not been to the Medieval Times show so I can not comment on that one.

with a current review like this (and knowing you have a daughter close in age to mine) maybe i should just forget the dinner shows altogether, and spend a few extra bucks spending the day at Seaworld. I've been there, so I know what I am getting for my money.

Thanks for the very current review!

Yes yes yes! I will second this! We just did this a couple weeks ago. You can read my report here: bit.ly/BmRyF
We've also done Pirates, Sleuth's, and Medieval Times, and I think the magic show is my favorite. Sleuth's is excellent too but more "adult" (although kids are welcome and the adult humor is designed to go over their heads). The magic show is totally clean and hilariously funny for both kids and adults. Just don't go on Sun. as there is a different performer on Sundays.
