Hello! I'm going on the Disney Fantasy in April! Can't wait!! I have a question about the Aquaduck.
I promised my 11 year old daughter that I'd ride with her. I really do want to ride it - looks like a LOT of fun! But I have a question...about getting OUT of it!! A few years ago I broke my right shoulder and it's healed, but I lost some range of motion and it's not as strong as it once was. So...my hubby usually gives me a hand getting up and out of rides (or anywhere) when I need it...especially if it's from a low position or a floor position! Is it possible for my hubby to be at the end of the ride to help me up?? (He's said he doesn't want to ride it - maybe I could get him to change his mind and ride it first so he'd be at the exit to help? He had a bad experience on lazy river once and avoids rides with water...but that's another story! lol)

I didn't know if the end of the ride was where other guests could be, or only CM's.

Or should I just try to roll out of it and get on my knees and get up myself? Is there a railing or anything to help you up? I'm not trying to be graceful; I know that won't happen! LOL I just want to get out of it and not be stuck and have to have half a dozen people come to help get me up! (Yes, the things I worry about!!)

Or get up and out before another raft of people coming whooshing down and crashing on me! :duck:
Thanks!
Valerie

Well, in my experience, there was a CM at the end, but I don't know about whether other non-Disney CMs can actually be there waiting. I found it's easiest to just roll out of the raft and then stand up, using the side rail of the chute. The water was about 2' deep and the rail was about 18" higher than the water.

The end of the ride is a platform a few steps above the deck. I don't see any reason your hubby couldn't wait there to help you out.

They may not want him "hanging out" on the platform too long waiting for you, for traffic management purposes, but he could wait nearby and then step up there to help you out. It wouldn't be a big deal- not a cast member only are a at all. There are often parents in the vicinity snapping pics of their kids as they come out so they're used to people being around the finish area.

The end of the AquaDuck is literally just metres further up the deck from the balcony overlooking the main pool area, if a CM doesn't let him wait right next to the exit there's no reason he shouldn't be able to wait further up towards the pools (pretend he's watching funnel vision) and then quickly come to help you. Last year I had friends use the AquaDuck directly after me, and I waited right where the exit is for them to finish without a CM saying a word.

I have issues with my knees and I know that 2 years ago, we went with family, and I think that my sister was there to help me. I also remember being there to help my 79 year old mother up at the end of her ride. :cheer2:

This year, just DH (who had NO desire to do Aquaduck) and me. I rode a couple of times. There is a 2 foot (?) wall that you can grab to help you up. I do think that i did a bit of a roll to get into the proper position.
