APs with Disney Club discount

We're going to purchase APs for our family as a Christmas gift. If I use the DC discount, do I have to activate them before the end of this year when the DC ends?

Annual Passes.

I think all you have to do is buy the vouchers before 12/31. Activation can wait. ( I assume this is not a renewal?)

I bought our annual passes at the Disney Store with my disney club discount. They will give you a voucher. When you get to WDW, you will exchange the voucher for your annual pass. That's when it's activated. It doesn't have to be activated before the end of the year just because DC is going away.
