APs at the resort now?

In the past, when we renewed our DVC APs, we had to go to a park, or DTD. Well, I just renewed dh's AP and MS told me that we could get his AP at concierge at our resort. Has anyone else done this yet???
Of course, the same MS CM told me that dh's AP would be activated as of the day we picked it up...not the day it expired!! It expired 1/31, and we check in on 4/21...it was a renewal, so I doubt she's right on that one!!! But doing will call at the resort is something new to me.

The MS CM is wrong. If you renew, your AP renews from the same date. If you don't do it within 30 days of that date, it becomes a new AP and not a renewal.

As far as I know, you still can't buy APs at the resorts. You can either do it online or at guest relations outside any of the parks.

Yep, I fully expect dh's AP to expire 1/31/12.
But it's not a case of 'buying' the AP at the resort concierge desk, it's a 'will call' situation. We'll see what happens in April. The funny thing is she's the one who brought up the subject...said 'And you can now pick up your AP at the concierge desk right at your resort. I'm adding it to your resort reservation so they will remind you upon checkin'. She asked me if I wanted to renew my AP as well. Told her no, I was going to wait until I got there and then buy an entirely new one so I could squeeze in an addtl April trip possibly. My AP expires on March 2, so waiting until April 21 isn't such a bad idea.

I think I read that that was in the works somewhere as well. But haven't seen any report that it's possible. I will ask when I go in April, but I'm guessing someone might report back if it's true before then.

My bet is that it's not in place yet. If it were, I thik we would have seen something about it over on the Parks forum.
