I know we get the AP's at a discount rate, but I am reading something about the TIW, where AP holder's can purchase the TIW and get 20% of most table service restaurants. Ok, what is the cost of the TIW and where do we purchase this. I am all confused:confused3

You can get TiW at any Guest Services location at each of the parks or Downtown Disney (not at the resorts). The cost is $60 which we recovered in four days. It gives you a 20% discount in most table service restaurants. The discount also includes alcohol beverages (one reason why we recouped our money pretty quickly). The trip before this we had the DDP, but after trying TiW we prefer it. Looks like we'll be getting more APs in the future in order to be eligible for the TiW. IN the meanwhile we'll be using our current TiW in April for a recently planned trip and also in August when we'll have 6 or 7 people in our party. Glad we have it!

The other thing to remember about TiW/DDE.

You only need 1 card holder per 9 guests (so if you are having a meal with 12 people you would need 2 TiW/DDE cards, I've never had this issue come up.) But the person who's name is on it, has to be at the meal.

So a lot of times we eat with our in-laws/parents/friends. So we get a lot of use our of are DDE.

Use to be you could only get them at Guest Services at EPCOT Center. But now I believe you can get them at any Guest Services at a park.

So to break even you have to spend $300 on table service meals. Another thing to remember is they add the tip in for you. So just pay what's on the bill. (I think it's stupid, but that is what they are doing now.)

Another item, the card is only valid for 13 months from the date of purchase.

Where can I buy the AP?

Can I buy it online? and where?

What about TIW card? can I buy it online?

Where can I found prices for both?

If we will be 15 people I would need two AP and two TIW, right?

If we don´t drink alcohol, does it makes sense to buy two AP? Do I still saving money?

Thanks

You can buy the AP's online at www.dvcmember.com, click on member privileges. The AP's for ages 10+ is $369 with the dvc discount, not sure the price for under 10 yrs. of age.
Each person will need there own annual passes (AP), with 15 people you will need 2 TIW's. The annual passes on tickets to the parks, they are hopper's, not just one park a day type. AP's only make sense if you will go to disney more than 1 time within a 12 month period.
I don't think you can buy TIW's online.

That isn't true, it's based how many park days you have in a year. If you go for one extended stay, 8 or 9 days with a DVC discount, then it hits break even. It's based totally on the number of days you are going and what other ticket media discounts you can get. ie If you are military, then the break even get to like 10-11 days.

Some other factors that can drop the "cost" of an AP.
If you eat a lot at table service, then with the TIW it might make that point come down.
If you buy something big at World of Disney (WoD) since there is an AP/Disney Visa Discount it can change your point.
If you stay on a cash reservation, at a time when there is a AP discount, that might make it cost effective.

And there is always my main reason to get one, convenance. We visit 3-4 times, for 3-4 days each, a year, I have family in Florida and we fly though MCO (as that is just as close/far as say JAX.) So we've been known to stop at Epcot on the way out of town for Fish and Chips. We would have NEVER done that if we where paying ~$90 for both of us to go into the park.

I will warn you about APs. Once you get one, with the renewal being ~$100 less...it's hard not to renew it.

Thanks for your answer.

So, everybody will need annual passes or could I just buy 2 AP (to have 2 TIW) and the rest MYW (with Park Hopper) and still have discount for all 15?

Is it true that TIW is good for 13 months?

are AP good for the same time or just 12 months?

TIA

Yes, you could just buy 2 AP's and 2 TIW's and the rest MYW with hopper and everyone ( I believe) will still get the discount.
Yes, TIW's are good for 13 months and AP's are good for 12 months.

So once you get an AP for $369, when you go to renew it a year later it only costs $100? Why wouldn't anyone get the AP:confused3
