My Wife and I are currently living out-of-state and no longer keep a FL drivers license. We do have a Suntrust bank account that has my parents' FL address on it. Is this enough to get an FL resident AP rate? Otherwise we are stuck for ideas..

Below are the ID requirements:

(Quoted from the Disney World site.)
Proof of a Florida residential address is required. For each ticket purchased for an adult, you may provide any of the following:

  • Valid Florida driver's license
  • Valid Florida state-issued ID card (must have a Florida address)
  • Valid Florida-based military ID
If you do not have one of the IDs indicated above, then for each adult ticket purchased you must provide one of the following, dated within the past two (2) months evidencing a Florida residential address together with a corresponding picture ID (passport, driver's license, state identification card):

Proof of Current Mortgage
Monthly mortgage statement not older than two (2) months old
Deeds, Mortgage Contracts, Mortgage Payment Booklets and leases are not accepted.
Photocopies and fax copies are not accepted.

Bills, Policies or Registration
Current homeowner's insurance policy or bill
Current automobile registration, insurance policy or bill
Current Utility bill (Power / Phone / Cable / Water)
Bills can be no more than two (2) months old (PO Boxes are not accepted as proof of residency).
Current bills printed from electronic versions are accepted.
Photocopies and fax copies are not accepted.

Mail
Mail from financial institutions; including checking, savings or investment account statements
Mail from Federal, State, County or City government agencies
Mail can be no more than two (2) months old (PO Boxes are not accepted as proof of residency)
Photocopies and fax copies are not accepted.

Even though it says this?

"Mail from financial institutions; including checking, savings or investment account statements"

Together with a passport. still wouldn't be okay?

My parents do what you are describing and have not had difficulty getting their FL resident discount. License shows one state, bank account shows Florida and they have never had a problem.

The Suntrust statement must show your name and the FL address, then for a pic ID you can use your driver's license from another state or a passport

We recently moved to Florida and once I updated my account information (address) online, it recognized me as a Florida resident and allowed me to renew online with no proof of residency. Went to the parks after that and no issues getting in.

We still own property in Florida but have Texas IDs. Every time I've bought a ticket (or an AP), I've shown my Texas ID and printout of my most recent mortgage statement on the Florida house with my name on it. No problems.

If you have the proof as noted on the list posted above (and mail from a financial institution together with any photo ID is fine) you can get the resident tickets (remembering that each adult will need something with their name on it - joint accounts are fine for both parties if they're both listed). Period. Disney does not classify residents the same way the IRS or Florida does for tax purposes. You either have the proof listed above or you don't. Whether you live there 5% or 80% or don't live there at all and just keep an account is only relevant as it may weigh upon a conscience.
