April's "Better Late Than Never!" Quiz - Questions 16 & 17 *ANSWERS ADDED*

Going to post two questions tonight as they are both about the same subject - EuroDisney's opening ceremony.

Question 16 first. The opening ceremony was covered live on TV across Europe, but can you tell me who were the two hosts / presenters for the UK version of the show?

(I thought this might be a little cruel on those quiz entrants not from the UK, but I'm sure the answer must be Google-able, plus if not, I will accept the names of the hosts from their country as well, just to be fair!)

Question 17. A number of big musical acts performed live at the opening ceremony, most of them on the big stage in front of the castle. However, can you name the two who didn't - they performed instead in Videopolis?

EDIT - Turns out there were three acts at Videopolis, although the very grainy copy I've got of it on VHS only showed two of them performing during the show. Just give me two of the three for full marks.

Okay then, time for some answers...

Question 16 - The hosts of the UK version of the Opening Ceremony were Pat Sharp and Matthew Kelly, although I have given people points for various other combinations from other countries.

Question 17 - This one caught me out a little because ITV only showed two singers performing at Videopolis - first Cher and then later Tina Turner. However, there was also a German singer by the name of Peter Maffay who performed, so either they skipped this or he went on stage before the UK show started.

There were a total of four points on offer for the two questions combined, but I will be giving Quack an extra bonus point for going above and beyond and giving far more info than even I'd asked for - all of which was totally correct of course! See, it is worth going in to a bit more detail...
