Strictly speaking, the answer I was after was 500 shares as this is the minimum you need to join.

However, all you clever people who pointed out that you still need to pay a fee unless you have over 2000 shares, get an extra point because I'm feeling generous (plus I've been too stingy with the bonus points up until now!)
