Ok easter comes early next year 3/28/05, so disney on 4/23-29, crowed or not? I'm somewhat flexible on time frame, i just want to make the most out of our days.

This is when we're going t0o! :Pinkbounc So, I'd also like to know this answer. It goes back to regular season instead of Peak so I'm hoping it won't be as crowded. :)

We'll be there from April 29th thru the 4th of May. From all the research I've been doing that time of spring is suppose to be about the quietest. However, I posted a poll on here last week and much to my surprise those last 2 weeks of April seem to be the busiest!!! ARRGGHH!! I don't know how much we can actually depend on the polls here b/c Easter week is supposed to be the busiest time of year and according to my poll it's not as busy as the end of April:confused:

Here is the poll I started...I hope this will work , if not, just search under the title " Who's going to WDW March/April 2005 "
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=664514

Maybe if we can keep this thread/poll going a little longer we can get more people to vote and get a better idea on just how busy we can expect it to be.

Massachusetts Public Schools have vacation from April 18-22.
Grad Nights start (I think) the last weekend in April.

NYC public schools (and I think the schools on Long Island) have spring break April 25-29. Grad Nites are April 22,23,29 and 30.

We may be there April 22-May1. :hyper: :hyper:

YIKES, your poll concerns me. I wonder if I chose the worst time to go :) I haven’t made any commitments yet, just my counter :) Maybe the first week of May looks better. I too would like to keep this thread/poll going to see what happens.

We were there last year (2003) at the very end of April and in the beginning of May in 2002. I didn't find it to be busy, certainly not like the first week in June (like this year).

It just depends on which park you plan to go to. The Grad Nites are only at MK and I can tell you that many of the kids in our area have done their Grad Nites at Universal this past year because there's more appeal to that group at Universal these days.

Anyway, I wouldn't be too concerned about it being crowded during this time. If you wait another month (end of May, early June), then you'll be not only dealing with crowds but the "peak" of the heat!

March/April will be very busy as it usually is. This is spring break and easter time in 2005. I'm not a big crowd person either, I always stay away during this time:p

What are grand nites? And Universal grand nites? We plan to do both disney 3.5/4days univeral 2 days? Have you stayed at the dolphin. If so why dolphin and not swan? :bounce:

Long Island Schools are closed April 25th-April 29th. It still may be a great time to visit WDW since most of the schools around the country will be open!

The NY area can't make a huge impact on crowd levels at WDW. While I am sure it will not be empty, I think it will be far from crowded!

We were going to go during that week, but the airfare was incredibly high! I was surprised since it is Passover week. I didn't think Passover would impact the fares too much....but I was wrong. Flights to Florida are high that week! Presidents week will have to give us our fill until next summer!

For the April vacation, we decided to go to Arizona instead.:sunny:

TiffanyM5375-sent you a pm explaining the grad night thing

We love BOTH the S/D actually but favor the Swan just a bit more because it is smaller and more intimate but we still make our way to the Dolphin even when we stay at the Swan:tongue:

If you were looking at my photo collage I actually just switched them, we stayed at the Swan this past stay so I got lots of good shots of the Dolphin, prior to that I had a great shot of the Swan on my collage:tongue:

Vermont public schools are on vacation the 18-22nd as well.

We were there during april vacation of last year- and it wasnt bad at all...walk on's on some attractions, and fast pass for the rest.

I actually have committed...so too late for me. But I don't really think you can totally go by the poll I did. Also, the 1st week or 2 of May probably will be busy because of the celebrations starting on May 5th.I'm sure you've read the other replies here and these people know what they are talking about. So I am not going to worry and I'm keeping my plans and I know no matter what we'll have a fantastic time! I just cannot wait!!!!!

That week in April isn't nearly as crowded as the week before it. That's the school vacation week for NH public schools (yeah, we're outta here!!!) and apparently some of the public schools in New York. But as far as I know, the rest of New England (aside from NH) has the week before the one you're looking at off. I could be wrong, but historically that's the way it is. NH has to be different:D We really like that time; the weather is perfect for us northerners, and the crowds are very manageable. It wasn't so great in 2000 but that's because we were there for Easter. But this year it should be really good as far as crowds go.

We were there the last two weeks of April this year (2004) and it was right after Easter.

I'd guess because of the Easter peak, it was busier then it will be next year with Easter earlier.

It was not as crowded as we feared. In the mornings we walked right on all the attractions.

The longest wait times we saw in the afternoons were 50 minutes. And with Fastpass, there was no reason to wait in ANY line over 10 minutes.

We went on all the favorite rides twice.

Dining was not a problem, we simply shifted our meal times a bit earlier or a bit later, and we often had places to ourselves.

We didn't have any problems with the parades or the fireworks.

We did learn in advance when Grad nights were, and planned to visit MK earlier in the week.

We were planning to go back the same week in 2005, but we're having a baby instead.......lol

And the weather was great too.

We are hoping to go the last week in April too. Perhaps it will be more crowded because of an earlier Easter and breaks are more spread out this year. I hope not.

jwfla, Your pictures were great. Can you tell me about the studio at the Swan. thank you.

I went last year in April, I think during grad nights. It was packed big time, Europeans everywhere. My family had a hard time just walking around the park, I was upset that nobody here on these boards mentioned the Euro invasion. We ended up not using 2 of our harper days and just spent time at the hotel pool. I'm going in January this time, from what I hear there are no crowds in January.
