My boyfriend and I have been together for 5 years and we loved our trip to Disney last year. I am a teacher and only have small windows of time during the school year to go. I would like to surprise him with a trip but I can't decide between April and July???
What are the pros and cons of each? April would be basically whichever Easter week I have off and July would be the week after 4th of July. What would you chose?

Any input would be a help to me!
Thanks!

I'd like to tell you that one may be less crowded than the other but both of these times are very crowded and peak times. If these times were my ONLY choices though, I would go with April because the weather is more bearable. The temps are a little easier to take and it doesn't rain as much during this time of year.

We went the week after July 4th last year and although we didn't go to the WDW parks (we went to SW but still stayed on WDW property), DTD was packed everyday all day and night EXCEPT when it rained. And, it rained EVERYDAY of our trip, some of the days it rained for hours.

Even if July is a little less crowded, which I'm not sure about, I'd pick April.
To me, being outside when it's 95 degrees and 90% humidity is miserable.

I voted for July. Teaching is busy - even in April - even on our "breaks". Wouldn't you be preoccupied with school things on your mind in April? We go in July because of this same problem.

As far as teaching goes, until next year I am only part time- two classes of 28 students. I am a history teacher at the high school level so as yet I haven't found myself not being able to separate my teaching thoughts from my weekend. I have been told all that will change once I make full time! lol!

It seems like many people opted for April- is there a big crowd difference between April and like July??? Has anyone been during both??

I just asked the same thing on a different thread! lol!

One other question-
With the free DDP were there ridiculous crowds? We have friends who went and came back with a lot of complaints this year. But since people here seem to think the crowds/weather my be more pleasing in August I am not sure if that is a recommendation......
If anyone has input on this I would love to know. I just didn't want to have a bad experience because so many people were going on the promo (as far as I have heard this is a pretty average hurricane season deal) and we loved January but since that isnt an option.
Let me know what you think about August instead of both? I mean, I would be able to stay longer than a week if we went for August but not if the weather/crowds/Free Diners would make it less pleasing of a stay then April.

I would pick April over either July or August simply because I think it would be nicer weather.

Since you've been before, and I'm assuming this will not be your last trip, you can do things at your own pace, enjoy your resort when the crowds are too much to handle. Take a behind the scenes tour or something that won't require lines.

Enjoy!

Bobbi :)

2 words for April....cold & wet. Pack your wet suit.

Well, I don't know when we will really get a chance to go back. In reality, this may be it for a few years. Since we are going to be gettin engaged soon, we will have wedding planning, and all that jazz plus I start my Master's classes this Spring so I am not sure. That at this point seems to be the biggest thing holding me back.
As for rainfall and cold weather- we liked the January weather of 70-80 with some cool nights we had so I don't think temp will bother us much either way. We are NYers so we can bear the seasons. And April actually has the lowest average rainfall out of the year for Orlando. Did you have bad experience on an April trip??
Not many takers on the August idea?
