Today we checked out of Wilderness Lodge, we were sorry to say goodbye to it as we really did enjoy our stay here. Today we were off to the Mall, bear in mind this is the 2nd time in the car since driving from the airport. We called down and got the valet to get the car and got the bellman to take our bags. When we got outside the lodge we had forgotten what our car actually looked like! The only way we spotted it was because I have a bright pink bag and I spotted it in the boot LOL. The valet gave us some easy instructions on how to get to the mall, so off we went. We only took one wrong turn and ended up at the Florida Mall to do some shopping. Alan found his PSP game he was after and we went to my favourite shop Yankee Candle and I stocked up here with my Birthday money. Alan also decided to buy a new digital camera here as well. We stopped off to have some dinner, I think it was pizza. Next stop was Abercrombie and Fitch, we spent ages in here Alan brought loads of topes, shorts and jeans. When we finished in the mall we popped everything back into the car and our next stop was our new resort Hard Rock Hotel. By now you might have realised we are not good at this driving lark, we got lost again! But eventually we were opposite the entrance to the Hard Rock Hotel some how LOL.
The Hard Rock Hotel is a lovely resort and very impressive when you drive up to it. We Valet parked and went to check in, we were given room 2021 which overlooked the pool but had a few trees in the way
It was a lovely large spacious room. Alan loved all of the memorabilia at the lifts here and was very impressed to see Slash from Guns and Roses guitar and outfit. We walked from the pool around to Islands of Adventures. I love the walk from the hotel to the parks it took no time at all.
We headed in to Islands of Adventures and I must say I wasnt looking forward to this so much as of course now I couldnt go on all the rides I wanted too. So off Alan went to Hulk and Spiderman whilst I waited outside and people watched whist drinking a frozen cola yum!! We walked through to Jurassic Park and Duelling Dragons which again Alan enjoyed whilst I people watched.
This was the quickest time we have ever spent in Islands of Adventure a full two hours! If I had been able to go on the rides I know we would have done a couple of them twice. We strolled back out to City Walk and looked around the shops and spent some money in Quiet Flight, which they have made bigger but it is not as nice as it was in my opinion. We headed around to the Hard Rock Café for dinner and had Fajitas why do they insist on putting broccoli in veggie fajitas!!! We like looking at all of the memorabilia here and enjoyed our dinner. We strolled back to the HRH and picked up a yummy ice cream at Emack & Bolios and then settled down for the evening.
