Happy Birthday to Me !!!
What a place to spend your birthday! I woke up and Alan presented me with all of my cards and lots of dollars and had Happy Birthday Balloons around the room. I also had a Stitch HB pin to wear that Alan had brought me.
We headed out on the boat to the Magic Kingdom, I know we were only here last night but this is where I wanted to spend my Birthday. Breakfast this morning was at Crystal Palace and when we arrived at the table it was decorated with Mickey Confetti and streamers. We met up with Dean who is in charge of the Grand Marshalls for the parade and he gave us some instruction on where to be and at what time he also brought along a Happy Birthday Badge for me too. After all of the characters had visited and we had finished our breakfast, our server brought me a Cup Cake and a birthday card signed by Pooh and Friends. What a lovely Birthday Breakfast!
We managed to get on Stitch this morning which did mean queuing for a little while. I enjoyed it, I liked it when it was Alien Encounter so theming it with Stitch was good for me. Guess where we went next .Buzz again and then we headed in to Fantasyland to see Snow White. We also managed to squeeze in The Haunted Mansion, Country Bear Jamboree and Pirates of the Caribbean. Whilst heading back to Main Street some of the Cast Members were calling out Happy Birthday to me and one of them let me choose a pin off there lanyard. We headed over to Main Street and got a lovely sundae yum!
We headed back to Frontierland where we had to meet CM Dean to be ready for being the Grand Marshalls in the parade. We stepped off stage and were introduced to 2 other couples who were also grand marshals for the day. Dean gave us all Mickey Mouse Ears to wear and they had our names embroidered on the back. There were two or three marching bands that set off before us and then the cars came out. We got in and then they announced the Grand Marshalls, so if you were in MK that day you may have heard them announce Alan and Kaylee from Plymouth, England!
Our instructions were to wave and smile all the way around, which we managed to do, a lot of the cast members were calling out Happy Birthday to me, but it was tough to keep that smile on all the way, I feel sorry for Cinderella now LOL!
When we got all the way around to the fire house we got off the cars and Dean presented us with certificates for being Grand Marshalls and thanked us for helping them out. Thanked Us!!! We were thanking him. We were able to see the parade come down Main Street so we didnt miss out. I loved my ears and really enjoyed wearing them. We headed back to the hotel and whilst we were waiting for the bus a lady in the queue recognised Alan and said Hey werent you in the parade today? Famous at last!
When we went back to our room in the lodge I had another surprise waiting. Alan had arranged a birthday box to be delivered to me. These are done by a DISer called Faralpeg. It was full of chocolates all different kinds and on the top it had a Nemo holding a birthday cake and a Mickey ariel topper. It was lovely!
After a rest we changed and headed out for dinner at Ohana my choice again. Which I know as a vegetarian you might find odd, but they do a lovely veggie dish dont ask me what it is though as I have forgotten already. I love the salad with the honey-lime dressing and the bread and the pineapple and caramel dipping sauce yum!! It is a delicious dinner. I also got serenaded by the man at the poly with the little guitar singing Happy Birthday to me, I also got another Birthday Cup Cake.
After Ohana we headed back to the lodge to meet up with our friends for our second attempt at a Wishes Cruise. The weather was lovely no rain today. We boarded our boat at the marina and then cruised around the lake we saw the Electric Water Pagent, it was lovely to see it from the water. And then went over to Seven Seas Lagoon and after looking at all the resorts we settled in front of the Magic Kingdom and watched Wishes again. We headed back to the resort and said goodbye to our friends and then headed off to bed. It was a lovely birthday!
