April Fools!!! 100 day challenge! list of challengers added to post #1

I'm new to the Wish board, but I would like to join. I actually restarted my WW plan today. My goals are to stick to my WW points and workout 5 days per week. I am off to a good start since I managed to stick to my goals today. Yeah!! Only 99 more days to go. We have a Disney trip planned in June and I would really like to lose 20 lbs before the trip. We have about 11 weeks so it will be close if I stick to the program. Good Luck everyone!!

July 9th really?!? I don't know how I thought that was close to labor day! :lmao:

Well then, I have decided what my "stuff" will be, but it wont be easy.

1) Jog three times a week (barring injury then I will swim or something)
2) Walk (jog, run) at least 5 miles 6 days a week
3) Get in 4 30 minute sessions of other activity a week (ideally pilates 2 times a week and jump rope 2 times for 30 minutes, but I will allow myself flexibility on that)
4) Drink 10 (yes 10) glasses of water a day 6 days a week (I will allow myself one day a week where I am not running to the bathroom every 5 minutes! ;) )

These rules can be bent or broken during vacations such as my 4th of July trip

:flower3: I'm in!

I'd like to sign up for this (holy cow -- all the way until July 9th!?!?)...

Here's my plan:

:) 30 minutes of exercise per day, minimum
:) 5 minutes of core exercise per day, minimum

Do we check in daily? Weekly? I'll do my best!

Thanks! Happy April Fools!
Ashley

Okay, I think Ashley's idea works best for me too, so I hope you don't mind my copying you. ;) I'm going to go for a minimum of 30 minutes per day cardio and 10 minutes per day strength/core.

Hi All~So far so good day 1. They all seem like realistic goals so we should all make it to 100 days. :thumbsup2

Tia--

No problem at all! I should shoot for 10 min/day strength and cardio, too, but sometimes I wait all the way til bedtime, and 10 minutes seems like too much at that point!

We had a day off from school today since the buses couldn't access the rural roads after yesterday's big snowfall, so I've already gotten day one take care of. Baby steps, right?

Keep smiling, everybody! Can't wait to see our hot bods in July!

Hi I want to join too! I haven't done a challenge in forever. I want to stay within my calorie range and walk/aerobics 5 days a week!

Thanks,
Jennie

Ok, I'm still thinking about how to refine my challenge goals, but here they are so far.

1. Journal my food and exercise daily - which should help me with my other goals
2. exercise 4 times a week minimum
3. Eat healthier meals and stay within my calories daily (1200 - 1500) Part of this is going to be trying to eat more whole foods and fruits and veggies... but not sure if I want to make a daily goal for that yet.
4. Weight goal for July 9th = 170lbs, goal for the half way mark = 181lbs. (I decided to shoot higher than my 15lbs so that maybe I will actually hit 15 :rolleyes1 )

I was trying to think about this challenge as something I would try to do/not do everyday for 100 days, but I was having a hard time with thinking that way. I do have the journal thing which I think really does help me when I do it consistently.

Good luck guys we can do this!! I'm off to work on my exercise goal, then I will come back and post to my journal for the day. :thumbsup2 Calories should be in range today even though I splurged and had 2 cookies today :scared: I was good on all the other stuff, so hopefully will stay in check!

I would like to add one more thing to my 100 day challenge -- no fast food. I know sometimes it comes up when others are around or on car trips, but other than that -- none, nada, zilch. This will also help me save some money since I am a Subway junkie 2 nights a week.

Thanks! Way to get a good start this spring, everybody!
Ashley

Count me in! My challenge is to exercise at least 4 times a week and drink more water.

Thanks!!

I would like to join you all for this challenge too. I am pledging to exercise for at least 30 minutes, at least 5 days a week, and to journal all my food intake. I am off to wdw in the am, so I'm going to start next tuesday when we return, and it will be a 93 day challenge for me.

Thanks so much Vija for starting this. I really want to try and become more involved on the threads here. The support and inspiration is awesome, and I have seen that I do so much better, the more I come here. I'll see you next week.

Ok, I think I may be over-thinking this whole challenge, but I wanted to get input from you guys.

On my goals I said I would stay within 1200 to 1500 calories a day. I know that I SHOULD be doing that and will do that Most days, however I can say with certainty that there will be days that I will go over. I would say it may even happen weekly. My thinking was that if I aim for it daily and get there most of the time then that is progress.... but then I'm wondering if that is not really following the challenge goal of doing something for 100 days?

My problem is that I have really good days and then somewhat bad days (and the occasional really bad day), but I want to have way more good calorie count days than bad. I know that the point is to challenge yourself to do more than you would normally. I drink Tons of water daily and have pretty much cut out soda and sweet tea, so those are not good goals for me. I struggle with my eating and it isn't going to be perfect just because I say "for 100 days I will be perfect". BUT at the same time, I don't want to be the person dragging the group down saying... "I didn't make my goal today" too many days.

Ok, so what do you guys think... should I take out that goal? should I say I will stay within that range X number of days a week or X percentage of the time? or should I just keep it and strive for the best I can?

Honest answers are greatly appreciated!! :goodvibes
Thanks for allowing me some overthinking/rambling time!

My challenge will be to eat at least 1 piece of fruit or equivilant there of each day in place of something sweet like ice cream or candy.

I know we used to start our challenge over if we missed a day (ya know, back in the olden days... Just kidding) and we would just strive for 100. As you get closer it gets really motivating to keep the habit because we would update our count in our signature. Does that make sense?

Another thing we could do is keep track of our days and sort of "race" to 100 days of commitment to our goal. A few would reach their goal right on July 9, some would reach it in July and others might take longer. We would cheer each other on to do our best and lend a hand if someone gets into a bad rut. This way would work well with so many people doing 5 day a week plans, etc.

There are lots of ways to think about this challenge. What works for you?

The main thing is to find a way to motivate ourselves!

Thanks for allowing me some overthinking/rambling time!

I know exactly where you are coming from! I count points not calories, but it is soooo much harder some days than others. For my points--I say to myself each week "I will stay within my points target 5 days this week". Before I started doing that I would have a bad day and then feel like the whole week was blown and I would completely quit counting points the rest of the week. Not good. With the 5 day goal, if I mess up today I am more likely to just get back "on the wagon" the next day and not blow the whole week.

Well, I almost blew it on day 1, but I'm happy to report in at 1 for 1. DD and I exercised to Mousercise tonight! Anyone else remember that one? I had the LP as a kid and it was a lot of fun doing it with DD at about the same age I was when I got it. I surpassed each goal by 5 min to boot. Sometimes i've just gotta get up and get going!

So far so good. Day 2 and I have done the treadmill 30 mins,:woohoo: yesterday and today. Long way to go. I hope everyone else is doing well. It's hard but with so many of us trying we should be fine.:goodvibes

Well here it is day 2 and I hadn't even listed my own personal challenge. I actually have several - I hope that's okay.

1.) Write down every bite of food I take. I do WW so I go by points....but my goal is just to write it all down even if I can't figure points for something or if I know the total is so awful I don't want to see it - I still have to write it down. (My hope is that I have points values 95+% of the time, but right now just getting it on paper is enough)

2.) To do true "exercise" at least 4 days a week, but be active the other 3 (play outside, mow the yard, etc)

3.) To spend at least 30 minutes a day focused on DD

Day one I made all of them - woohoooo!!

Day two I have made it to the gym and the rest is too early for me to do :)

Ackkk as the OP, can you believe I didn't make it through day 1???:sad2: total stress eating...

so I am out driving my car and what do I see coming from my engine... smoke!:scared1: I call DH and tell him my engine is smoking... he says "what do you mean - smoking?" I say "My engine is creating smoke!":rotfl: Didn't think my initial comment needed an explanation!:lmao:

Anyway, my car is in the shop now and we will see. DH thinks it's the radiator.

I am so glad that you guys are doing great and have joined me in this challenge. I will go back and read everyone's posts and update the challenge list today. And I decided to add exercise to my challenge as well.

See ya in a bit!
