April Experts~ Weather? Crowds??

We will be going to the WDW 4/5 - 4/13, we have never been there in April can you tell me somethings....How is the weather can you swim? We picked to leave the Wednesday before Easter are the crowds really bad??? We were just there 11/30 - 12/13 would the crowds be similar????

I am certainly no expert - but we have made a few April trips and
1. Yes you can swim - the weather is wonderful
2. The crowds are there - but we follow a plan (like TGM) and we really have noever had a problem
3. We don't spend all day in the park - we go early in the morning - do as much as we can - go back and swim or shop - then back to the parks at night -

this has worked well for us... we will be there April 7-14 this time - staying at CSR

You will be dying for a swim. You won't find the crowds as light as your Dec. trip but it is still a great time to go.

We've gone the first week in April for the past 2 years and are going again this year. It should be warm enough to swim during the day but the early morning and evenings can still get chilly. There was one night at EPCOT that it started to storm about 45 minutes or so prior to Illuminations. We had no trouble getting a seat at the counter service place at Mexico to watch the show, but we were freezing! I wound up buying a couple of blankets from the Mexico pavillion to stay warm. Mid-day was very warm, though. You will probably want to bring a couple pairs of jeans and a jacket in addition to shorts and t-shirts. That, to me, is the worst part of an April trip. We have 3 kids and I hate having to double-pack for all of us.

It will also be fairly crowded, though not as bad as the week before or after Easter. The lines for the more popular attractions can be up to 90 - 120 minute waits in the afternoon with no fastpasses left. Strangely enough, though, there were times during the day when the line for Mission Space was 15 minutes.

Despite the crowds and unpredicable weather, though, our April trips have been wonderful! Have fun and maybe we'll see you there!
