April BWV BW View goes away while I'm on the phone with MS!

I was talking to MS on the first day of my 7th month window for an April trip and BWV was available one second, then gone the next! I'm not one to stress out about these things, and have backup ressies and waitlist, but it goes to show you: Book first thing in the morning at the 7th month window , and buy where you want to stay so you can book at 11 months!

Yes I did waitlist Boardwalk view, and only one day in my trip became unavailable while I was on the phone, so I'm hoping for the best. MS felt very bad because they had put my on hold to check on something before this happened, and kept trying to get the one day back on the ressie but it didn't happen. It does make me wonder, however, if checking on a regular basis for a waitlist helps.

This situation really frustrates me!!

I had a similar experience when trying to book a last minute trip for Labor Day weekend -- when calling, a room was available for all three nights and the CM starts working on booking it. Half way through the booking, the middle night disapeared!!

I don't understand why an available room can't be put "on hold" for the duration of the phone call to complete the transaction. You shouldn't be told that something is available only to lose it if dealing with a slower CM or slower computer, etc.

Thanks for letting me vent!

DH almost had that happen for our MLK trip. 2br BWV/BW view was there then gone. So he proceeds to book a 2queen BCV and wl the BW view. Luckily he got a "goodie" at MS and she decided to check BW again before doing the wl and it popped up again. So she changed the reservation to BWV

About to have my first experience with this process. I'm trying to decide how much time and effort I want to put into it.

Is it really true that you get better results by calling constantly?

I am always nervous when I call and they say, yes there is room available and it takes 20 minutes to book it.:scared:

I try not to make small talk so I don't distract them. ;) :lmao:

I've heard this happen to a few people. I can really see how frustrating it is.

I was trying to book a vero beach cottage at 9:00 am at the 7 month mark. I wanted a cash night for the Saturday night and points for next 5 nights. She said she had it, I was so happy (and a little surprised), she started to get the names of all the party and the cash night dissappeared. I had to phone back the next day to get the 5 nights for points . I was very happy to have the 5 nights, but you hear about this happening frequently and there must be a way to fix this problem.

I don't know what kind of program Ticketmaster uses , but I know you get your tickets on hold for x minutes before reserving them. Maybe DVC can hire one of their programmers. Although, I know that thousands of people calling DVC on one day for multiple properties and configurations is a little more complicated than reserving 4 seats for the Jonas Brothers :)

I am always afraid of this happening! I agree that they need to come up with some system that allows the reservation to be placed on hold for a few minutes until the transaction is complete.

OP, sorry this happened to you and I hope your waitlist comes through soon for you.
