April and August. It's a 2 for 1 PTR deal! (Updated 4/19 --- TRIP REPORT LINK!!!)

YAY POCAHONTAS! I've now designed and ordered a shirt with her on the front and made shoes with her colors on the sides ;)

Do you have pics of your shoes up somewhere? I'd love to see them!

I have some pictures on tumblr- I'll dig out a link for you!

I may not be losing pounds as fast as I would like, but I am certainly losing inches!

I have to remember that even though I may not hit every numerical goal that I make, simply feeling this good thus far is an achievement itself!

Only 30 pounds to go!

Chapter Nineteen: Tonga Toast!

Tonight our family did something wonderful! We went to Kona!

Well, not quite ;) We wanted to try the Tonga Toast recipe for dinner. (We love breakfast for dinner!) The recipe looked sooooo yummy that we just had to try it. We havent actually been to Kona yet, so we dont have anything to compare it to. If our results were even ½ of what Konas version is, it will be incredible!

Like the famous strawberry sauce I keep seeing? Can't wait until I can try some of that heaven.

We printed the recipe off of AllEars and I, Chef Lauren, got to work!

Gathering the ingredients: Sourdough bread, bananas, eggs, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon sugar for topping!

The recipe calls for large slices of sourdough bread but all we found was a thinly sliced loaf. Improvisation!

The recipe calls for ½ of a banana per Tonga Toast but I ended up using a whole banana for each.

Chapter Twenty: We're getting a bit Deluxe over here!

I've admitted in the past that I am certainly not an expert on Disney. I am learning new things all of the time. Most recently, Ive learned about Bounceback deals!!! I remember seeing that paper in our room during our January 2012 trip, but sorta forgot about their significance. I saw a post on the DIS about them and literally the light bulb went off in my head! Im bright!!!

If I am going in April, I can book our August trip under Bounceback deals! I know that it is not guaranteed, but obviously we have to consider all of the options prior to the trip. I have to know what to ask for when I call!

Right now, we (meaning I) are seriously considering booking the first week at Wilderness Lodge and the second week at the Beach Club. First week MK based, and the second week Epcot based. Sounds like a win-win to me!
The cost (with the bounceback deal) will be $2980 for a Woods View Wilderness room and a Standard Beach Club room. Currently we are already paying $2700 for our 2 weeks at POFQ. Two weeks at a Deluxe would only add $280. That sounds amazing!

A few weeks ago, this wasn't even an option. I mean, Magic Kingdom a boat ride away? Walking into Epcot whenever I want? Talk about being pixie-dust-ified!

The logical side of the equation says that by booking 2 weeks at POFQ under bounceback (POR if POFQ is not available) we would save almost $1000 as the cost would drop to $1752. Hmmmm. Decisions, decisions.

The other option is doing 1 week at POFQ and 1 week at Wilderness or Beach Club. That would save us $200-400 dollars off of what we are paying now. My thought is if it will save less than $500, we might as well book the two deluxe weeks.

What would you do??????

That's a tough choice!!! Personally I love the location of the BC, because you can walk to both Epcot and HS. Paying a little bit more for the convenience and experience at a deluxe for a once in a lifetime trip would totally be worth it to me. Although- on the flip side the thought of saving $1000- you could put that to maybe one more trip since you are an AP holder now. You could go for a long weekend over F&W....

Good luck deciding!!!

My experience has been- once you go deluxe, it's HARD to go back to anything else! Buyer beware! :lmao:

Wilderness Lodge is WONDERFUL. And I'm staying a few nights at Beach Club prior to moving to AKL in November. (renting points).....

Good luck with your decision. I don't think you'll regret WL & BC if you go that route.

Haha! Already thought of the "one more trip" side of this equation. Definitely something to consider. But on the other hand.... (favorite phrase right now) you are right. A once in a lifetime trip. That is totally what this will be!

We actually stayed at AKL when I was 10....loved it! Our last trip in 2012 was at POFQ. It was great as well! Honestly, I think I could be happy at POFQ...but just the thought of BOTH WL and BC sounds soooooooo good. Even just Beach Club. Such a hard decision! And we only have 8 more days to decide!!!

Chapter Twenty-One: This time next week I’ll…..

I will either be at Orlando Airport or already in DISNEY WORLD! (Depends on if we can get bumped up to an earlier flight) Either way, oh my! I can’t believe it! 7 days! One week!

Of course, that means I must keep up with my to-do list!

- find largest carry-on bags possible
- practice packing and check that everything will fit!
- decorate trip journal!
- mousekeeping tips/envelopes
- double check camera/video camera/chargers/SD cards

Obviously there have been other items (various shopping, planning, etc.) but there are still plenty of things to do and make!

I’M ALMOST TOO EXCITED TO SLEEP!

Today's the day!!!!!!!!
Have a wonderful time with your little sister. Make some memories that will last a lifetime

We re-entered reality (aka Orlando airport) at around 5:30 on Monday night. Amazing trip with so many incredible memories!! Trip report coming soon!
