April 5, 2012 5 Night Bahamian Cruise (Dreamfinders)

Add us to this thread:banana::banana:

I just booked for us. We've done a DD before but this will be our first Dream.

After hearing the podcast about the Dream I was so excited I couldn't sleep....I'm not sure I can wait 15 months!

We'll have me and my husband and our 2 DS's 12 and 10
Hi! My son will be 12 when we sail too!

Hi everyone! I'm thinking about switching me and my DS (11 yrs old at cruise time) over to this cruise. Right now we're booked on the Fantasy for 7-nights, but call me crazy - I'm not sure I want to do a 7-night cruise. :confused3 It's just me and my son and we did a 7-night cruise last year and felt it was too long for us. I think a 5-night will be perfect. And I also like the idea of being able to do the WDW parks first, then getting on the cruise for 5 days. Plus you can't beat going to CC twice! :thumbsup2

I have to make a decision by this weekend, so will definitely keep you posted! :goodvibes

Add my family to the mix! We just put down our deposit today.
This will be our first Disney cruise (although I went on a Big Red Boat cruise back in the late 80s when I was a tween). It stopped at Castaway Cay and that has been my mental "happy place" ever since...can't wait to go back there...twice in one trip!
My stepfather and I are surprising my mom for her 61st birthday (4/5) so they will be accompanying my family. My family is me and DH (both 35), DS who will be 11, and then not-yet-born DS who will be 1! My birthday is 4/11 and the baby is due 4/15 so we might have lots of birthdays to celebrate on the Dream! We've all been to Disney World at least once a year for forever, so we're looking forward to a Disney vacation that involves lounging about, eating non-stop, and checking out the caribbean.
DS can't wait to hang out in the tween club and make new friends. He says the wii TV screens in there look awesome. :goodvibes

Hi Everyone!!!
We are on this one too! Me, DH, DS, will be 10, DD's (twins) will be 6.

Sounds like the kids are all roughly the same age!

Wow, small world, both my wife and I are also UNLV alums and my wife was born and raised here is Las Vegas. She even went to Valley HS for one year (87-88). What year did you both graduate from Valley and UNLV?

I only went to Valley my senior year. Matthew was there for 2 years. We graduated in 1984. I was at UNLV the next 5 years. I did an Associate degree nursing program and a Bachelor's program for nursing (before they made it a straight 4 year program.) I took 2 1/2 years for each. My MIL still lives there, so I have been back to Vegas. I haven't been back to the UNLV campus for quite awhile, though. Matthew did 1 year at UNLV then when to Arizona State. He pushed himself to finish up in 4 years total after he transferred.

Hi Devon's Mom,

My son will be 10 at the time of the cruise as well! I've done Disney that week before, at is is SUPER crowded. We will be staying 2 nights at a Disney resort before the cruise, and just be going to DTD, and hanging by the resort pool. The parks are a nightmare due to the spring breaks and Easter.

All these 10 year old boys!!! My younger son is so excited to have some "friends" already.

My 12 DS is looking forward to the Edge!

Hi!!! Good to know about the parks... We figured it would be crowded with the spring break goers. We are planning on coming in that Tuesday before the cruise and staying at a Disney resort as well (hopefully the BC or BWI) and we were thinking of just going to the parks on Wed. Tuesday depending on what time we can get a flight at, we will most likely do DTD and hang at the resort as well.

All these 10 year old boys!!! What fun they are going to have making new friends on board!

I'm so excited there will be so many kids around Devon's age! They are going to have a blast making friends!

Hi everyone! I was just checking in and saw all the new cruisers! It's cool to see the tickers! :goodvibes

On previous cruise meet threads, the thread starter put everyone's family on a list on the first page. I'll have to tag my DH to do that soon!

I see that a few people are going to the Parks before the cruise. That is our plan, too. We'll have to arrange to meet up! :yay:

I'm looking forward to the cruise... and wishing it was this year!

Me, DH and DD (6 at the time) will be joining all of you on the cruise too! We live in Michigan and are hoping to fly in on Tuesday morning, spend two nights in Cocoa Beach, and then cruise away! Hopefully there will be some more little girls around 6ish! :cool2:
