Yes I knew about Syracuse because one of my cheerleaders (I'm a cheerleading tumbling coach---undefeated in our section for several years now!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:--- for those who might not have known that before) who graduated 2 years ago is on the SU co-ed cheerleading squad. She got to go to the final four games (I think that's what it's called) and was on TV this past year. Pretty exciting...so because I konw her, I know their colors (and they're a pretty good basketball team, too, apparently....otherwised I'd be clueless!:rotfl2:)

I went to Upstate Med for my nursing training way back in the 70's! OUCH...that sounds like I'm prehistoric! :lmao: We spent a lot of time on the SU campus as it was just up the hill from our small campus at the University Hospital dorms! :cool1: I wouldn't say our time spent there was "nurses gone wild", but almost!! :rotfl2:

My brother and his family live in Syracuse and my other brother went to college there (as does one of his kids right now)!! And they absolutely have a long history of great basketball (and sometimes football) and lacrosse there! You must be a great cheer/tumbling coach, because it's really tough to get a place on those squads!! Those girls (and guys) are great!
:cheer2::cheer2: GO ORANGE !! :cheer2::cheer2:

I promised my DH that I'll ask this question here. He said since I'm on this board so much, I should find the answer LOL.

For some of you who travel a lot more then we do.....which hotel at LAX is worth using? Seems most of them don't have free breakfast in the morning. So if we decided to stay at one of hotels at the airport, which one should we choose. Our flight to CA will be probably with late arrival and my DH doesn't want to deal with transfer to a hotel closer to the port just before midnight.

Thanks !

I actually do a fair amount of lecturing and training with Upstate Medical (And with Downstate Med, too) so I'm very familiar with it! :)

And yes, our girls are a talented bunch....they've placed in the top 3 at National tournaments for as long as I can remember and have won their division at our nationals invitational the last three years running. We're the county and section champs for our region for several years running, as well. (It's Fairport Cheerleading if you want to look them up on youtube....there are some fun routines of ours up)

Linda - I wish I was going with you too. So far that was our best cruise yet. The airfare was just out of sight right now. I know you will have a great time.

Only a month and a bit to go before the WBTA - right now, that's getting the focus of my attention. Wish y'all were going on THAT too:goodvibes

Happy Day, all!

We loved the 2010 WBTA. Weather was great, seas were calm. We would have loved to do it again, but not in the plans for this year. So, I'll take the this cruise instead :cool1:

Here is my logic for staying at a hotel near the port. We are going to have to get a shuttle, taxi or whatever from the airport to some hotel, regardless of which one we stay at. If we taxi to a hotel near the airport we are going to have to deal with LA traffic to the port the next morning and compete with getting a taxi. Some of the hotels in San Pedro, like the Double Tree, offer a shuttle to the port, they also offer a park and cruise package for those driving in. So we are most likely going to stay in San Pedro the night before.

I know this isn't what you asked but thought I'd give you my logic.

I have lived by LAX my whole life. I have never encountered bad traffic on a Sunday AM.

Alan, I agree Sunday traffic isn't bad but it is still going to be LA traffic, very different from traffic in other parts of the country. That said, how long do you think it takes from LAX to San Pedro, - in good traffic flow, 30-40 min?

If I can cruise not in the HOV lane at about 70, shouldn't take me more than 20.

My Bob and I hated the design I posted earlier but I got valuable input from you. So here is what I think might work and what we think would look good. I'll call the two companies tomorrow and see what they have to say.

Hi Prayers sent your way for your little guy...have a little 12 month grandson..what a worry for everyone in his family...Sorry for the loss of your aunt....Wishing you a great birthday celebration..my sons 25th is this year...wow time does fly !
Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers.
I know .... time flies by too quickly - I keep thinking 25, can't be!

So I officially jumped on the boat and will be joining this very merry group. I was able to snag an inside cabin and convince my husband that a two week Disney cruise to Hawaii would be the very best 10 year anniversary trip ever - especially our first trip ever without kids. (We never got a honeymoon) Maybe I should just bill this as our honeymoon, only had wait 10 years! :cool1:
:welcome: Welcome aboard ... it's never too late for a honeymoon.
This will also be our first cruise without our daughter.

I was lucky enough to book early and have my reservation for Hawaii. I cannot wait...Barbara

Jon we did the 2007 WBTA and it was wonderful too - Atlantic was so calm and still almost mirror like. The med was so much rougher we found! Had an amazing time.

Lovely design. Thank you so much Val and Bob for all your work and time. You are amazing!

See that was the problem with both, we want Food and Wine time at WDW. So no buffer time which ment no flying SB to BCN.

I can definitely understand this. I was lucky enough to be at WDW during the last two Food and Wine Festivals and although I am really looking forward to going to DL again after not having been since spring 2006, a part of me wishes that I could do the Food and Wine Festival again. Oh well, there is always next year.

This looks great, too. I will keep my fingers crossed tomorrow.

Val, I have same logic then you do :) But my DH wants to convince me that staying at the airport is better idea if we fly in at almost 11PM.

Another question....yes, we are trying to finish up our planning in near future, so I will post lots of questions. I have no idea about Port in San Diego...is there any rental car company available? We would like to stay in California another day or two after the cruise.

I know Enterprise is there.

This is lovely. :cloud9:
It's bright enough to be tropical and subtle enough to not raise any copyright red flags, I would think. Beautiful job.

We often do a park & fly near LAX and have liked the Airport Hilton a lot. Most airport hotels will have a free shuttle & it's quite convenient. I understand not wanting to maneuver too much after a long day & flight - my DH would be the same way. You might do a search at parksleepfly dot com or airportparking dot com just to get an idea of the hotels in the vicinity. We thought the Holiday Inn at the airport was fine too....good luck with it!

Those are the colors of my favorite NFL team, the Denver Broncos.

I love it! I think it is much less "busy" looking than the other similar one. Once again, :worship: Thanks for all your talent and hardwork.

:woohoo:Welcome to those still snagging rooms!

He may not get a lot of help here :confused3

I, for one, am not a lover of airport hotels. That being said, I think we're going to fly into Vegas a few days prior, and then fly down the hill the morning of. Karmel shuttle from Airport to Port.
