April 29, 2012 ~ Aloha! ~ Wonder to Hawaii- who is with me?

My DH gave this to me as a gift like 3 years ago ( I really wanted one ) and I just pulled it out of the box. I felt overwelmed with it, just looking it. :rotfl2: It can be a expensive hobby and very addicting but so much fun ! I believe he bought it at Michaels.

You sound just like me!!!! Mine sat and sat because of fear. I use it but go in spurts. Let's just say I've made many a Mickey head:yay:

My name is Sandy and I'm a scrapbook collector..........:rotfl2:

4 Costcos and 2 SAMs clubs. Bought Disney gift cards too!!:cool1:

I've been to 2 of those Costco stores (Hawaii Kai and Iwilei) - seen another (Kapolei) and have a pretty good idea where the one in Mililani would be - have been to Wal-Mart up there. Shopped at both Sam's Clubs.

Does this mean there's something wrong with me? Now, granted, I was living there when I visited some of them; was on 3-week vacations for others, so I wasn't really "wasting" precious time in Hawaii.

I don't recommend it for our 12-hour visits to each island, though; unless your name is Tony and it is on the Bucket List.

Did your Disney gift cards still come with the $10 Bonus Shopping Card? My local Sam's Club still has those available (with the winter graphics).

[Didn't I tell y'all that I loved talking about Hawai'i? even shopping at Costco brings back memories. Although I really enjoy shopping at Long's Drugs - but don't know if they will change now that CVS has bought the company. Long's Drugs has nearly everything under one roof, including coffee and souvenirs. There is one located Mauka side (mountain), Eva end (West) in the Ala Moana Shopping Center, second floor. Just above the US Post Office, towards Sears, next to the escalator]

PS: a fun thing to do (IMO) is what I did for this: bring up Oahu on google maps, then find Costco and use the little man to bring up the street view. The Kapolei location reminds me of Arizona meets tropical - new construction homes and business. This would be very close to Aulani resort.

ALOHA from the island of Oahu. Made an appointment out at DVC Aulani for Thursday. Tony and I will get an on property tour (been informed we will be in hard hats) due go continuing construction. ...

While you are walking around, try to imagine spending the day there - wondering if it would be possible to get a "day room" rate and use the pool and facilities.

Have a great time!

Have you gotten to Puka Dog yet? how about malasadas from Leonards? or Dole Whip from anywhere? Maui Taco is in Kailua next to a burger joint, around the corner from California Pizza Kitchen, same parking lot as Macy's.

I am interrupting my posting of Hawaii pictures to share some images of our Alaskan cruise (I posted these on the WBTA thread, also):

Love the Alaska pics on the post above - that looks amazing!

I'd also love to hear about your ABD Backstage Magic tour....it's something that I would love to do....I wonder if it is offered before or after our Hawaii cruise....wouldn't that be something...it would save me the airfare (I mean I have to fly out for the cruise...why not add in an ABD while I'm in LA). Does anyone know when the 2012 itineraries are announced?

Not sure when the 2012 itineraries are out. I'm doing the tour with the Dis Podcast team and a bunch of Dis'ers so it'll be AWESOME! They really plus those trips by the sound of it. Not sure when the 2012 ones are announced, guess it must be soonish.

Since we are dreaming of a DCL Australian cruise, lets give it even more thought. Do you think DCL would cruise in our fall/winter since it would be spring/summer in Australia, right??

I would think that would be right - its pretty darn cold in parts of Australia in the winter and if they do New Zealand too, it really would be best to do spring/summer/autumn.

i was just researching costco's yesterday! for sure our favorite store, just bought a 60 can rolling softsided cooler from their this week to take on this long journey to hawaii! looks like there is one about 6 miles from cruise port that we will try to hit up for pre cruise alcohol....we signed up for the dis shuttle from disneyland area, maybe we could arrange a beer stop, or we will take a cab from port to go pick some up...looks like Torrance is the closest, anyone ever been? Also, would their alchohol part be open on Sundays, (ours in Mn is closed on Sundays)? thanks for any advice....

planning this trip has been fun so far...seems like any new clothes i have been picking up this summer look "hawaiian" or I say I could wear this on the cruise next year...

Thank you for sharing wonderful pictures auntlynne. I really love the one where Wonder is at the end of the street. Alaskan cruise is one i would like to do in the future, but with two small kids I'm kind of worried they would be bored to death without warm weather and swimming......

Oh, there was swimming onboard. The pools were 89 degrees or so - it was only bad when you got out and the wind was blowing. I loved being in the pool and looking up at the snow-capped mountains alongside the ship.

Lynn...each time I see your Alaska pictures here or on facebook, I keep thinking..."WHY didn't I see her on the ship?" Guess 'cause we were cruising several weeks apart. :lmao::lmao:

Puk Dog and ABC store on the list! Saturday is Kamehameha Day with parade et al.

DVC tour brief but fun putting on the hard hats and shoes and goggles. I wasn't permitted to take pics of the construction site from the grounds. Sorry guys. Did take some pics when Tony and I were driving around. I even did a pin trade:rotfl2: The lobby is very cool. I peered into a gift shop window........open open open....... and what did my eyes behold but a Dooney and Burke Hawiian Aulani bag:rolleyes1

Lame at posting here so posted some pics on FB of the unit. Enjoy.

I got those on CC in Oct on my B2B. They were on sale. I think I got both for like 30 bucks. I know the black one was only 15 bucks.

Man, that is a great deal. I just put one in the cart and with tax and shipping it was $67.00. Hard time justifying that as much as I like them.

I'm not looking for alcohol but I am looking for a pepsi run somewhere close to the port . I just haven't decided what form of transportation I am taking from DL. Decisions, decisions.

Loving the Alaska pictures. I honestly think that was one of my favorite cruises......and shhhhh, it wasn't DCL.:rolleyes1

I really like the black one, but so much money for a shirt.....I rather put this in our vacation fund to pay of this cruise :)

oh my...I have been reading and reading...this is such an active thread!!! I am at page 100 finally...almost half way caught up....:lmao:
