We sailed our first cruise when my youngest was 8 months. It was a challenge, but we still had a great time.. He will be just over 2 this time, so we should all have an even better time!..

Please, Do you have any tips, My girls are 8 and 10 and I have completely forgotten everything about babies? Is there anything I need to bring beside the basic baby care stuff, Any tips that made life easier onboards, Anything??? Thanks ;)

Well to my immense surprise, I did get a reply from DCL today. It did not say a great deal, but it mentioned all the issues I raised so it could not have been a form letter. Essentially this letter could not have been written unless somebody read the my whole letter from start to finish. I call this a result. It did mention that my comments have been passed to the relevant managers.

Glad you got a response, maybe, just maybe, they'll listen, fingers crossed! :)

A man traveling in our group is from Australia as well.

We're slowly discovering Disney and we're coming on mass! :rotfl:

Have a nice long weekend, we have just the 4 days (although many businesses have Tuesday as well).

I'm just heading out to Robert's Mum's - she wants to declutter her house :scared1:

Is the scared face because you are doing a 'Hoarders" style clean-up or just a general declutter? Good idea to declutter, I suppose it's just less stuff to clean up again after the next earthquake. :confused3:sad2::upsidedow

My favorite Australian candy is Violet Crumble. Just saying....:rolleyes1

Hmmm, that sounds like a hint. You'll need to remind me, I have baby brain, but I am happy to bring some. :goodvibes

LDL - good to have another Aussie aboard :) What are you going to do about your daughters and their schooling ? Are you just doing the cruise, or spending extra time in LA ?

Last cruise we did there were 3 Aussie families onboard. :thumbsup2
We are hoping to leave on ANZAC day and do a few nights in Disneyland, then come straight home after the cruise. The kids will miss school, they go to a great school where they encourage travel and believe they learn more overseas than in a classroom. So, 3 weeks shouldn't be a problem.
Sounds like you've got a great trip planned, Hawaii and DL first, Pure Bliss! :cool1:

OK....our flight leaves Rochester in just 9.5 hours for our trip to DisneyLand and then our cruise from LA up to Vancouver then the first Alaskan...and we just finished packing...finally!! Now it's time to get to bed so we can rest up for the trip...

....but before I head to bed wanted to post and let everyone know that we're going to be trying to blog this trip like we did our last...anyone who wants to follow along can do it at:

Have a fab time boys! :thumbsup2 Looking forward to reading your blog again.
PS, I have found a few satin's, princesses, cars and pooh (yes, it has Tigger). I will PM you some pics when you return from your trip. ;)

Thanks for the well wishes everyone! We're leaving for the airport in 5 minutes!!:banana::banana::banana:

Hi Erik & Jason,
Jim and I will be checking out your blog, have a great time and tell Kimmie and Johanna we said Hi. We would also like to be part of the lanyard team for the Hawaiian cruise. Enjoy your Easter Holiday in Disneyland!

Hey Michelle!! What a wonderful treat to see a send off from you before we leave! We'll take a picture of the 4 of us at DisneyLand and post it or email it to you!

Enjoy your trip..I would love to read your blog...(we met many cruises ago)...Have fun !!

Oh ! Forgot to ask ! Are most of you just doing the cruise, or are you adding on days at DL / somewhere else ? We will be doing a stop-over in Hawaii on the way over (we bought DVC on the last trip), and we also want to spend time at DL. My only concern is that we want to do it pre-cruise - will the place be inundated with "Spring-breakers", or will it be over by this time next year ?

Have a great Easter.

Cheers,
Sally :)

We are going to fly in the day before the cruise and will either stay somewhere near the airport or the port. When we come back, we will probably stay at Disneyland for 3 or 4 nights before coming home.

I hope that you will have a wonderful trip.

hi everyone!
I'm so sorry I haven't been around- and have maybe got a bit behind on the original post. I've been scrambling to get everything ready to leave tomorrow for our DL/cruises coming up soon! We leave tomorrow and then cruise Wed!

But I will do my best to catch up and update the OP tomorrow night- once we're there and settled at the hotel. Promise to do my best on that. :goodvibes

And then try to keep up when I can while on the cruise- depends on how well I can get online while on the ship though. haha We'll be cruising 4/27 thru 5/10..... Alaska here we come! :)

Hope all is well with everyone!

I hope that you will have a wonderful cruise.

I am about to head to work for the second day of the 8 that I have to work in a row. It is all good though. At the end of those 8 days, I am heading to Dubai for my vacation. I can't believe how quickly this has come around. I just booked tickets for the observation platform on the Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building. We will do this next week Saturday. I also hoping to see the Dubai Fountains at the same time. We will also get started on project wedding band. They have a whole area in the shopping mall next to the Burj Khalifa with just jewellery stores. Unless something catches our eyes straight away, we will also check out the Gold Soukh at some stage during the vacation.

DH is teasing me mercilessly that I am not allowed to come Dubai unless I have finished my trip report for the Panama Canal cruise. I am about half way through the last sea day and then I just have our day in Los Angeles to do, so this should be doable.

Sally,
It was Max I was thinking of. Loved the pic of Christopher. What a beautiful smile. We'll have to be sure to connect them up on this cruise.

:welcome: to all the newbies!!!

Tim Tams....YUM!! I remember them fondly from my trip to OZ in 2004 :rotfl2: I :lovestruc Australia....I fell in love with a kangaroo when I was 7 yo & I knew I had to go. My father indulged me & joined me (when I was 34) for a 2 week trip to Sydney, Cairns/Great Barrier Reef & Alice Springs/Uluru. I pray that I get to go back to see the rest of the country.

I'm sure I will not be doing DL before we sail - pushing the days off as it is. I'll be flying out the 28th.

I have started the laundry to get the clothes ready for my Alaska cruise, but that's all I've done so far.

I do know that I WAY overpacked for him!... That was for sure.. It was one of those things where I was like, well, I want to make sure he has plenty of seasonl clothes, but what if its cold, then what if he makes a mess...Turned out I didn't use half the stuff I had taken for him.

I am not sure where your little one will me when it comes to eating solid foods, but Luke was in the transition between baby food, and soft big people foods, I found that most of the meals had things that he could eat, but I did not figure this out until I had bought a LOT of packaged baby foods. Please keep in mind we were only on a 4 nighter at that time. I can imagine traveling with an infant on a ship for 4 days is much different that for 16 days!.. I think it will all depend on your little one.

Monica, hurry up with your laundry/packing ...... Or I'll have to go instead of you! ;) :rotfl2:

I think I'll go and sit in the sunny garden, still trying to get rid of this horrid throat infection....... Enjoy your day everyone :cool2:

I think the way UK people use language is awesome. I was told by someone at WDW that we American's speak American, and the UK speaks English. I have come to realize what she meant by that!.. Anywhoo.. A co-worker and I were just having a discussion over the UK word "garden". You mean it as, what we would call our "yard". And a "garden" to us is somewhere we plant our flowers or veggies. So, if you sit in your "garden" where do you grow your veggies?

In the garden still!!:lmao: The garden is the whole thing, grass, flower beds, patio, decking, vegetable plot, fruit garden. Everything!
