So, Have there been any more problems since 2008, or have they sorted it out now? I know there were no lines on the WBTA and there were pins left over at the end of the cruise. Maybe they are not so 'limited' anymore?

Hope everyone is having fun planning, I'm trying to organise myself for a new baby so haven't done much cruise planning. But I'm sure I will be spending many hours on the couch breastfeeding so I'm planning on planning then

The problems we are talking about are from this last PC in Jan on the Wonder. The really messed up that's why I hope others will send a email so history will not repeat itself for a third time

This cruise will be a surprise for Trevor, since he graduates from High School in 2012...we just get to cruise before the actual graduation!

Over a year to go and here I am wondering if we will have linked dining, room tours- candy, postcard and scrapbook exchanges and will Paula have a bag of books outside her cabin door? Is that considered overplanning?

That brings back nightmares. WHY do/did I participate in the pin frenzy. The only saving grace were the nice people and friends we met in line all those days. My iPad was a life saver not to mention the deck of cards. Please DLC don't make us go through this again.

Yay it took a couple of days but I finally caught up with this thread.
Although I don't think they would make a D&B specifically for this cruise, I think it highly likely that they might create one for their Hawaiian Resort. Maybe they could make it available for the cruise. I'm hoping Disney will offer some kind of tour to Aulani. We go to Oahu almost every year so we've already done all of the tourist attracations there, but a day pass to Aulani sounds way cool

Love this pictures, it looks great. Wish they had offerred this is us on the 2011 PC. They did sell a map and then you could buy the pins, if you were able to get them. I took the them and framed them but they don't look as good as yours. Also like your pins better.

I heard about the 2005 PC pin issues, but on the 2008 WBPC, as above, we filled out the form as to what we wanted, which included an extra set for our son if available, turned it in and got a time to pick them up. We did get the extra set with no problem. Hopefully they will keep it simple like they did in 2008. WBTA 2010 there were no lines for pins. Have there been issues with lines for pins since 2008?

Merchandise: D&P purses were available on the 2010 WBTA - I'm not one to spend my spending money on a purse though - and there was a line waiting for Treasure Ketch to open. But eveyone that I knew who wanted one, got one and there were still some in TK at the end of the cruise. Merchandise was available and marked down to 50% off by the end of the cruise - T-shirts, travel mugs, etc.

Ducky - YES!!! I am sure he will sail with us! He has been on each of the "special" cruises that we have done. What an incredibly nice man!

The only problems I heard about was from the MV on the Dream.

I was one of the grandmothers who stood in that line for ALi and AJ. It was hours. I just had double knee replacement a few months before. While I was in line a very nice CM came up to me and asked if I would like a chair. I was so thankful. People were cutting into the lines and it was a big mess until they started to pass out numbers. The lines were so long. When I finally got up to the Ali and AJ they remarked that my grandchildren should thank me for waiting in that line.

Some people were cut off from seeing the girls after they waited in line. It was not a happy situation.

It is basically what happened to the pin situation.

I am sooooo sorry you wen't through that. Part of the problem was the number of kids/teenagers on board. They were overwelmed by the response. Not thought out at all. I know that wasn't pleasant and I probaly walked right by you trying to get away from there.

Valvob. Thanks for posting the story. I was one of the few dozzen that waited overnight for the last pin on the PC cruise. I also waited in line overnight on the 2005 WBPC. It was such a releief when they just left a form in our room for the 2008 WBPC. Also I am sure as well Ducky will be there. So make sure you leave room to bring home a litho.

Do you know if they will give more then one if your sharing a room ? I probaly know the answer already, just thought I ask. I know I am not the only one sharing a room with someone who isn't a relative. This has had to come up before right ?

One thing I want to ask and I know it is a long shot. If any of you who were on the EBPC in 2008 and have a extra set of pins and a map I have a extra set from the WBPC in 2008 I am willing to trade.

Sorry wish I could help you but we only got the one set. Good luck in your search though. There is a reunion cruise for June 23rd on the Fantasy ALOT of people are on it. You might have a shot if you pop on that thread and ask.

Also in So CA with the beach in my backyard. However, you will never catch me in our cold, dark murky water. LOL Hawaii, however, I love playing in the ocean there. Polar opposites IMO!

What a nice graduation present ! Glad my DD is on this board. She graduates this year and will be in college when I am on this cruise.

Just popped in to say hello. HELLO. Regarding the fish extenders, I agree with doing a smaller group. In the past, I gave more than one gift and with the airline luggage restrictions, it's easier not to have to worry about the weight of the luggage. I'm so glad I have an awesome luggage scale so I don't have to be embarrassed again when my luggage is overweight and I have to open my suitcase in front of everyone and put some stuff in my DD's suitcase. I'm so glad I bought extra scales if anyone is interesting in buying any. It saved me money. I know flying down I'll probably be fine (flying on SW, I hope so I don't have to worry about paying for my luggage) but it's coming back that I'm worried about. Souvenirs, gifts etc.

On the PC 2011, I packed 2 large USPS flat rate boxes. The night before we left the hotel I filled them with all heavy stuff, put the box in a large shopping bag so I could get a weight (we have a travel scale), went down to lobby and printed out packing labels. Cost me about $28 for 2 boxes (total weight about 40 pounds, I didn't have to worry about it at the airport and didn't have to lug it around, they were delivered 3 days later. Just an idea
Thinking this year might ship a box or two in advance to the hotel.

ps....planning FE gift....I like to do all staterooms....love the 1 am delivery...gives me a chance to see decorated doors.

I cant believe they handeled it this way. On the EBPC it was vastly different ans well as both WBTA cruises. Wonder what happened.

WOW-so many pages already. We are booked so far!! We are on the MV of the Fantasy as well, so no way can I take the kids out of school for another 2 weeks. It was hard enough getting the ok for my oldest to go for one week. He will be in middle school next year-had to ask the principal for an exception.
So, now I need to talk my mom into watching the boys. I need to bribe her with something.

We are paying cash for this one....couldn't be on the phone lines with DVC because I was chaperoning a field trip that day. I got my TA to book it. So, it will be just my DH and myself.

I see alot o familiar names. It will be another great group.

You take all the great cruises! LOL! Looking forward to seeing you and your DH again. This is truly going to be a fantastic trip!
